Almost all Japanse idols are ''real''. They are trying to achive a ''girl next door'' look. They try to be as ''normal'' girls as they can be so they can achive a closer relation with their fans :)

compare with kpop idol group, japanese idols tend to have varieties of concepts. u will be surprised how many different kinds of concept a single group can pull off if u watch their live. because their producer is genius, and he writes all sorts of songs for them which matches their characters. do check AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48 and keyagizaka46. they all run different concepts. and if u like nogizaka46 probably keyagizaka would fit your type more their live is surprisingly good and the lyrics and choreography of their songs are quite good so far
