I love how the opening of this song incorporates bluegrass-type instrumentation whereas the video is grass roots and tribal. This band is very versatile and unpredictable.

Lyrics: In forest heart the man of leaves is dancing He is the source of stream and seed of life begun At the edge of dawn his lithe green limbs are moving Our thin flutes play and he steps the mystery round Green Lord Green Lord Spring maiden dances with you Green Lord Green Lord Spring maiden dances with you Through ripened corn the golden man approaches He wears the sun - the oldest light as a crown His fertile magic staff he bears before him The air is hot as he lays down upon the land Corn king corn king Harvest queen lays with you Corn king corn king Harvest queen lays with you On open moor the man of stone is waiting Between the worlds he guards the twilight hour Through his eyes the ancient knowledge passes His feet drum the throbbing beat of earth's deep heart Stone man stone man Weaving woman waits with you Stone man stone man Weaving woman waits with you Free running stag is riding from the darkness The world hart he leaps across the sky He carries deep the heartbeats of the old ones He marks a trail into the wise and hidden ways Horned god horned god Moon goddess rises with you Horned god horned god Moon goddess rises with you

Such a beautiful, pure song and video. It's pretty brave today to make a video featuring normal love between a man and woman - no depravity and sex in the video or lyrics, no interracial/homosexual couples thrown in just for the sake of political correctness. Really a gem.
@eddofguitarspirit10 жыл бұрын
INTERRACIAL? HOMOSEXUAL? IS THAT A FUCKING CRIME? NOT NATURAL? I don't know what is your concept of natural love but i'm totally disagree, homophobic. Instead, a beautiful song.

edd Fail Have you ever seen or heared of a wolf in nature creating a child with a bear? No? Have you ever seen or heared of two male wolves in nature creating a child together? No? So, please start thinking.

The fucking Jesus Christ, how stupid are you all, discussing of what is wrong and what is right about love and comparing two people who love each other to a wolf and a bear having sex. Just disgusting. Simply appreciate a beautiful song and a so poetical video. If your intention is to do a nazi-propaganda, just get the fuck out of here.
@FatherOfM18110 жыл бұрын
***** Well I kind of exeggerated here, I have to admit, because a bear and a wolf are not only different species but also different genera. Two different species (if they are from the same genus) can indeed mix, but only the female children will be fertile, so it would mean a massive disadvantage. If you put a group of donkeys and a group of horses into a paddock, the horses will surely mix with the horses and the donkeys with they donkeys, although they are of the same genus (Equus), because this is how nature works. Your argument now, will probably be, that there is only one human race and even only one human species, but this only the official theory (yes, theory), which is taught in school and in the media. There are however also more unpopular theories, claiming that Europeans, Africans and Asians are 3 different species from the same genus (Homo), namely Homo Neanderthalensis, Homo Sapiens and Homo Denisova respectively. You will ask now, why the male offspring of a couple consisting e. g. of an African and an European is fertile then, if they are different Species. The answer is because all Europeans and Asians are already a bit mixed and have some African genes. (This mixing happened in the last Ice Age, when the Europeans came to North Africa.) A good example for this is, that in very multicultural areas, doctors will almost automatically recommend a Caesarian section to a pregnant black woman, when the father is white, because Europeans have bigger heads than Africans, that do not perfectly fit the pelvis of black women.

No, Urban Outfitters is merely a calculating corporation that has adopted rural utilitarian style to sell to wealthy urban hipsters who pay hypocritically high prices to mask their privilege by looking like working class. These characters are from a small farming town, and are dressed to authentically represent that.

Pronounciation? Their singer speaks English as his mother tongue. In a way I love the forest connections they have and at least try to pass to listeners. Though as a person who has been in the woods quite a lot, theirs seems a bit too shallow. The wild is missing.
@heavendissection11 жыл бұрын
When I think of music in which I can feel the wild, I think of Finland's Nest.
@juusovattulainen985611 жыл бұрын
Nest is very close. I agree.
@chrisdiasinos774210 жыл бұрын
I disagree. The 'wild' nature of the woods can be found in many other pieces. This portrays its beauty and our human relationships surrounding it perfectly.
