After watching dunkorslam's video named "a full Noita run" i managed to start getting wins, to the point that i am now doing more difficult challenges like multi-orb wins or new game plus. I suggest to you to do the same
@blad...2 жыл бұрын
I suggest NOT watching full runs or game breaking stuff. If you're having trouble start with some wand building TIPS. Just learn how to build some wands yourself. Don't just copy end game wands.

@@blad... Meh. Its all about how you want to play. If you just want to win? Yeah watch a few dunk runs or streams and you'll probably be set in no time. Want to know everything about the game and forge your own method? Get ready for hours and hours of very unforgiving game play. Personally, I'd just suggest playing until you stop having fun, then look up more tips and tricks, use those, then repeat the cycle.

You can see how much Dunk genuinely loves Noita! I watch his KZbin streams even the 6+ hour ones. I recommend spending some time playing on your own after watching this until you start really hating the game because it's so tough, then go online and search for some answers to a few of your questions, and keep going from there. Noita is an experience and a huge part is the discovery!

Recently I decided to watch my friend take his first steps in noita. At first, we just killed ourselves at 1 location and weighed, but then I decided to help him go deeper. I collected the best staffs from possible resources for him, but for some reason he could not go beyond 3 locations. And I realized that in fact, the main problem of novice witches is not that they lack damage, but that they just get too much damage. They don't have those lightning reflexes at the sight of a propane balloon, they don't know what to expect from magicians, they don't feel the timing of a sniper shot, and so on. it seems to me that the main obstacle from the first victory is not knowledge, but skill
@VirtualButt2 жыл бұрын
I think the main obstacle is not necessarily skill but experience instead. For example, now that they have died to a propane tank, they'll know not to go near the 120-damage-blue-cylinder-of-death and make it explode beforehand. And if they get hit by, say, a blinding mage, the next time they'll know what that specific mage does and will try to stay clear of him. And this neatly wraps back to gaining knowledge as well
@brotherfox16602 жыл бұрын
@@VirtualButt Yes, you're right, but that's not all I said. to find out what this or that thing is doing, one death is enough for you. to learn how to dodge sniper bullets, slowly fly around the jungle, plant ukko (electric Satan from 3 locations) for a shot, not catch all hissi shots in the face, and pass most of the location without damage, that's what hundreds, if not thousands of races are spent on. you need to save hp to explore the location more, to learn more new things, to collect strong staffs. I can pass the first 3 locations without damage (if I'm not greedy), and a novice player barely survives on them. I'm talking about this

Which is why I still suck at this game, I have read most of the wiki at this point, but even after playing noita for over 100 hours, my actual skill still sucks. I'm just really bad at anything that requires reacting quickly and I'm not really improving (or only very very slowly) as I keep playing. Only reason I won once was due good RNG combined with abusing a bunch of secrets and knowledge. Not sure If I should start using mods that make the game easyer or not, it kind of feels like cheating but it's not like getting good is an option when I just don't get any better.
@brotherfox16602 жыл бұрын
@KeinNiemand I don't know, dude, really. I entered the game already knowing enough about it to survive a little. Sometimes, I reached 4th location. I've heard that it's a pretty common problem, that people can't win, but I've never found it incredibly difficult. Noita is a damn unusual and unfair game, and you have to keep that in mind. It is also not necessary to play it quickly, and to be able to react, it is enough just to always check the rear and carefully take away enemies one by one. they can also be bypassed, the locations are not linear, and it gives freedom for tactics in this regard. Just try to play more thoughtfully and carefully. If you really feel that you just don't have enough reaction, I can advise you nuclear throne, it's a pretty similar game, according to the number of turns, but there you will be forced to react quickly. p.s. (Don't use the wiki so often. This is not the best way to get acquainted with the game)

As a player that has a handful of wins and a ton of deaths, just keep going. Dont focus on trying to win right away, you arent going to. I've noticed that putting a projectile modifier at the end of certain wands make them act very differently. I had a no-shuffle wand with very low delay and charge (both under 0.2) and when I put Electric Charge > Concentrated Light it fires one charged bolt then reloads. But putting in Concentrated Light > Electric Charge makes it fire one uncharged bolt then immediately one charged bolt, then reload. However the same setups using a Magic Missile instead of Concentrated Light doesn't achieve the same result, they both fire only one charged missile before reloading. What gives? Edit: Also, I've seen some people use the Chainsaw spell to make completely ridiculous wands that don't seem to stop firing, how does that work?

any advice on traveling to a parallel world without ambrosia? i tried it with about 1K hp, blackhole with projectile repulsion, and 3 gourds but got rolled. skill issue or should i try something else?
@blad...2 жыл бұрын
The wiki says with 2k hp you can walk across. The biggest tip is FLY. Do not touch the rock. The damage from the flying is less damage than touching rock. What I do in 99% of my runs (*SPOILERS?*) is kill the alch. and find a healing bolt and make an infinite healing wand. I can just heal and teleport at the same time. You take very little damage depending on how good the wand is. (Must have reduce spread).
@Nibgames2 жыл бұрын
Try to use faster black holes using modifiers (Accelerating shot is really good), then teleport your way through it, you shouldn't lose too much HP that way! But Ambrosia is super useful to have however and not extremely rare. I usually keep searching for ambrosia before I go to parallel worlds

I'd say just don't do it without Ambrosia tbh. There are a few edge cases like the other comments mention, but Ambrosia isn't usually that hard to find if you're a good enough player to survive in parallel worlds in the first place. If you can't find Ambrosia, probably don't bother.

Can someone explain how the chainsaw works?
@Kyufoxy2 жыл бұрын
It's tricky to explain but in short: reduces Recharge Time by 0.17 as well as setting the Cast Delay of the Spell Block it is in to zero, no matter what spells. I tried to explain it and it turned into a Wall of Text. If you still want to read it, go ahead: Usage examples: let's say you have: Double Spell > Triplicate Bolt > Chainsaw in your Wand. Then Triplicate Bolt would add Cast Delay as well as the Wand's default cast Delay, but since you cast Chainsaw afterwards that Cast Delay is set to 0. If the negative Recharge Time of the Chainsaw would set your Wand's Recharge Time to zero as well, then this Wand would turn into a machine gun, no matter what Cast Delay on the Triplicate Bolt. If you were to swap the Chainsaw and Triplicate Bolt like Double Spell > Chainsaw > Triplicate Bolt then first the Cast Delay is set to zero by Chainsaw, but afterwards Triplicate Bolt adds Cast Delay, which is bad, so make sure you put your Chainsaw in last. Be aware that this only applies to the current Spell Block. In this situation: Spark Bolt > Double Spell > Triplicate Bolt > Chainsaw the Spark Bolt still adds Cast Delay, since the Chainsaw is not part of its block. Anything in a Trigger or Timer already has 0 Cast Delay, so this mostly matters for the Primary spells you shoot directly off your wand. e.g. Spark Bolt with Trigger > Triplicate Bolt would not factor in the Triplicate Bolt's Cast Delay, but that of the Spark Bolt with Trigger. To fix this you could do: Double Spell > Spark Bolt with Trigger > Triplicate Bolt > Chainsaw or: Chainsaw >Double Spell > Spark Bolt with Trigger > Triplicate Bolt. In both cases this would cast the Spark Bolt with Trigger alongside Chainsaw which results in zero Cast Delay. Second example works via a mechanic called "Wrapping": Chainsaw is cast. Next the Double Spell can't find a second spell not already in the Trigger and looks for a new one in a different Cast Block. There is none. It goes to the beginning at of the Wand (it "wraps"), it finds Chainsaw and casts it alongside Spark Bolt with Trigger which results in zero Cast Delay. Besides that Chainsaw does good Damage so putting one in a trigger to cast it directly in an enemy is not a bad idea either if you already have a machine gun without it. All that being said, Dunk also has videos on Chainsaws, Wrapping and other related stuff so if Wall of Text is too confusing, you might want to check those out :D
