Noize Freak Classes @ UMA

This class is best for dancers that have a strong sense of their improvisational language, regardless of style. Beginners are welcome, but if their dance vocabulary is limited they may be limited in the extent of their participation. There will not be instruction on dance per se. Rather, dancers will learn to read rhythm notation, clap complex notations and follow complex rhythms in their dance. Professional drummer, Steven Perry, will analyze dancers' physical dictation of rhythm, provide prompts for rhythm games and play the drums. Vince will present rhythm games, play drums and perform dance to Steve's drumming in classes. This is a great class for dancers that want to be better improvisors, work on their sense of rhythm, listening skills and overall creative capacity.
