I’m all for repairability. I have repaired phones as a hobby for a little while. Right now on my table is a 6th gen iPod with a swollen battery that belongs to my dad. Unfortunately, the battery was soldered to the board on these. I have the swollen battery removed but I’ll have to get some more flux tomorrow before I solder the new battery back in. Dealing with jobs like this makes me applaud any company’s attempt at increased repairability.

I definitely agree - I hope companies emphasize repairability on maybe slightly more expensive products too. Imagine if you could easily swap out a battery from an S22 or something.

Think I just found a phone that I wish I had. All these other 5G phone Motorola, TCL and T-Mobile branded phones all suck. I heard someone say this model reminded them of the LG K51 which was a good phone. Wish LG still made phones.

cool idea, but i doubt anyone will do that in a budget phone. most people will just buy a new one after a few years. this makes more sense with flagships, because in budget and midrange phones the tech advances too fast, I think having quick replacable batteries is the most important aspect or having a upgradable phone, though i doubt that´ll happen anytime soon

My m51 from 2020 still working 730g and android 12 6gb lappdr4x ram and 128gb ufs 2.0 rom and s22 plus is also going great 8gb lappdr5 ram and 256gb ufs 3.1 rom and android 14 but 730g handles most things fine even games like free fire run solid 60 fps pubg at 40 fps which was phone deafult setting camera still takes great pictures and 7000mah on m51 still kills every phone and m51 is much smoother when i put s22 plus on 60 hz lol
