Nokia X6 is being rebranded globally as the 6.1 Plus. 6.1 is a whole different device brother. Anyway, 6.1 Plus over Mi A2 Lite: 🡆 Snapdragon 636 over the old 625. Thus newer and faster SoC. 🡆 Better cameras, both front and rear 🡆 Type C USB 🡆 Slightly thinner bezels 🡆 X6 base model comes with 4GB RAM/32GB ROM, 6.1 base model 4GB RAM/64GB ROM, while Mi A2 Lite base model comes with 3GB RAM/32GB ROM 🡆 Gorilla Glass 3 🡆 Lighter 🡆 Faster LTE speeds Mi A2 Lite over 6.1 Plus: 🡆 First point, the price. Unofficially, the the base 6.1 Plus (4GB/64GB) is priced around 30-40 USD higher than Mi A2 lite (4GB/64GB). Officially, the base 6.1 Plus is priced at $290 (Hong Kong) while Mi A2 Lite at $195 (Malaysia) 🡆 Bigger battery, 4000 mAh. Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a 3060 mAh battery. 🡆 Dual sim card slots with MircroSD while Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a dual hybrid slot. 🡆 EIS performs much better on the rear camera, then again it could probably be fixed with a software patch from Nokia. As you can see, Nokia 6.1 Plus outperforms the Mi A2 Lite in almost every aspect. Then again, almost a $100 difference in the official pricing. Could be brought down to a $50 or $60 difference from retail or offer sales. You can go for the Mi A2 Lite only if you have a super tight budget. If you have the $290 and you want Android One experience, why not go for the Mi A2, which is officially priced at $225 for the base 4GB/64GB model. Which runs a SD660 and sports much better cameras than Nokia 6.1 plus. The only advantage 6.1 Plus has over Mi A2, is the MicroSD. Nokia 7 Plus has similar specs as the Mi A2 ..however, 7 Plus is priced at $360. ֎ Verdict: If you want the cheapest smartphone with a notch full HD display, awesome battery and Android One experience, Mi A2 Lite is your phone. If you don't like the Mi A2 Lite specs, as SD625 is getting old, still good anyway..hating the notch and still want a lower mid range experience with Android One, and got a bit more money, go for the Mi A2. So the only point of buying a Nokia 6.1 Plus would be ..being a die hard fan of HMD Global (Nokia). Else, pointless. K Bye.

Else, pointless" nope. you overlooked a few things. i am no fan of HDM but: no sd card on the A2 is kinda big deal for me no 3.5 mm jack on the A2. much better design of the nokia in my opinion. and thats a critical point for me. i just hate looking at the A2. and its way too big and wide for my gusto and i hate the cam bump in the back. the size of the nokia is kind of a limit for me, i'd prefer even smaller but the nokia with its more narrow and thick build feels still ok in the hand. so the A2 is out for me.

I think you set it out a little too black and white. For example, 636 isn't necessarily better than 625 because it's less battery efficient which could be better depending on the user. Bezel size is so close it doesn't matter, weight doesn't pose a benefit whether higher or lower and the cameras are also dependant on the user.

I hope you don't mind me butting in but the decision is solely dependant on how you use your phone. Think about which features you'll use more. For example, do you need battery performance or do you not mind a worse battery and beefier CPU because you're a heavy user? Will you see yourself using the dual sim + SD card? Etc.

I've had an A1 and have an A2 Lite and I can tell you hands down the Lite is better at everything including camera (well, other than 1 gig less ram on Lite with 32 gig verson). Other than optical zoom which the A2 Lite doesn't have, everything in the camera department gets an upgrade. Also, the Note 5 is definitely worse when it comes to software and the back camera is likely better on the Lite because of better software and dual cameras and selfie better on the Note due to higher megapixels. So far the A2 Lite has been good for me and no glaring issues are apparent.

Hi Frank, first time watcher and I just subscribed! These are exactly the two phones I narrowed my search down to, due to price, compact size and LTE coverage for att/cricket in the US. I do have a couple questions! How was the Nokia battery life in comparison to the a2 lite? I know the a2 lite has that massive 4000 mAh battery. How long did both phones last? Is the 4000 mAh battery worth it can you go 2 days without a charge? I also saw a comment about how firmware updates for xiaomi may improve the camera? How likely do you think this happen? How does xiaomi do this if its running android one? Lastly just a recommendation. I'm not a big gamer but I do a fair bit of traveling so interested in a compact, long battery lasting phone with a great camera, willing to spend a little more to get the right phone. Thanks for the support George! I haven’t tested the battery life on these phones properly yet but I did test the Redmi 6 Pro (Xiaomi version of the Mi A2 Lite) previously and it did very well with this battery so I think it will last very well overall, and probably better than the Nokia X6 and its 3040 mAh battery. As for firmware update, Xiaomi is typically pretty good at updating the it’s software skin MIUI, but I wonder if that will translate over to the A2 Lite version of this phone. As for getting a compact gaming battery king phone? Wow that’s tough because typically phones with big batteries and great gaming processors are too big, but small phones have poor battery life and lesser processors. I think of all the phones I’ve tested, you should look at Mi 8 SE, 5.88 inch screen, it’s battery was great, processor is the Snapdragon 710 so runs everything really well, battery is only 3040 Mah. It does have a notch, but has a great AMOLED panel that is HDR 10 compatible. Check out my earlier videos on this phone, I enjoyed it quite a bit!

Aha! Xiaomi IMHO is improving all their firmware specially in camera since I got my first redmi phone. Most of the complaints are hunting focus and low quality but now whew! Let's wait and see I think xiaomi will hit something big in their firmware or camera app Dept.

I think so! It’s about as stock android as stock android can get (with even the Pixel like gestures available like swiping fingerprint scanner for notifications, trusted devices, latest security updates etc)

as I noticed:even nokia x6 outperforms mi a2 lite in antutu,but they open apps equally.minus of mi a2 lite is the front camera,it brings some kind photoshopped face pictures what I don't like.I more like natural look,so nokia x6 wins point here from me.what surprised me is that a2 lite did good shots in low light what my mi a2 lite doesn't performed so well.were some kind special settings used there for mi a2 lite camera in low light shooting?

don´t forget the awsome batterylife of the Xiaomi with its 4000mAh battery. For many midrange phone customers - like me - battery life is one of the most important points. The 3000mAh battery of the Nokia would be the bealbreaker for me.

I'm baffled as to how you can say the video is more stable on the Nokia! The video on the Xiaomi was much more less wobbly. Also the sound recording on the Xiaomi video was infinitely better than the Nokia. It had a much fuller & louder sound spectrum than the tinny sound of the Nokia. As for the still photos, nearly every one of the Nokia photos had distorted uprights. Most of them showed buildings tilted to the right, while the Xiaomi uprights were near perfect (apart from the night time photo where both cameras showed a lop sided photo - probably due to the user rather than the camera LOL). IMO the Xiaomi wins hands down in the photo department.

For me the Mi A2 Lite is a much better choice. Much cheaper in Canada, longer battery life, and supports LTE band 4. You can't use LTE in Canada without band 4.

The Nokia X6 looks much more premium than the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. That back of the Nokia makes it very special, without a doubt, it also seems that the screen was Amoled.

There definitely is a reason why it costs more than the Mi A2 Lite! And you’re right the glass back makes it feel more premium. The screen is actually the one thing that at least to me appears the most similar, but perhaps the Nokia is calibrated a bit better, and contrast seems slightly punchier as well.

I got the Xiaomi for 6 months. IT slowly shows more and more flaws. Fingerprint is slow (4sec) sometimes. Networks failures. Camera really sucks. Battery is good. Sound is good. Screen is good. Screen broker and i moe have the Nokia X6 now because is was cheaper.

15:30, You need to take your glasses off and check properly. The A2 is much more stable than the Nokia and so it should be because unlike Nokia, which has zero video stabilization, the A2 has EIS.
