Great in the field review mate. Already drooling over this machine. I just got the Racer 2 with wireless headset and several aftermarket coils to play with. I may have to wait awhile before I jump into the Impact zone. However watching more of these in the field reviews pulling out the goods may challenge my patience. Yeah I get a feeling from a couple of other guys of the same thing. I was thinking about the Nokta Fors Core or the Relic or gold, but this Impact is having an impact! Might be time to rest the AT Pro and try something new! If yhey made a fully waterproof one at half or less than half the price of the Minelab CTX I would be all over it!

Yeah Great review, the Impact looks very cool. Awesome performance as we just seen, love the "iron volume" feature and the rest BUT its crying out to be WATER PROOF ! Man that thing even be looking water proof now, O Rings Nokta O Rings... My heart sank when you said No it was my only question left, I was sold. 10 out 10 to Nokta for raising the standard its like a Horse Power race now, awesome....

Kurt, Nice video on the Impact, I think it's going to be quite a machine once we figure out all the options/modes. Couple of things I'd love to see, perhaps in a follow-up Impact hunt video, is comparing some signals with Brad, and to know what settings your using. Would also be curious to know what the Impact ground balances at to know how your soil is out there. BTW if you test that small coil out at your indian head burial ground site, I'm willing to bet that you'll find more keepers then you did with the 11" DD coil :) Heck between the clad quarters, half, and dollar, you earned a few scratch offs! Try dropping the freq to 5Khz, that should sniff out some deep old silver shivering in it's boots!

I wanted to get some signal comparisons. That was the plan. The plan never works out. You will see more in time. I was running VLX2, gain 95, iron volume 2, 14khz. I want to try the small Coil in the trashing parts of that site. Out in the open it won't be deep enough. This place is deep

Awesome review Kurt ! Love that Indian Head sight its never going to be hunted out. I stop after work sometimes for a few holes and it is a trash and iron pit. But, since you showed me where it was I love it way more then the first park we met. I've been hitting a bottle dump probing possible privy's and having some luck. Waiting on a new coil my Nel Storm is done. So bottle digging will do for now.. Always up for a invite brother! You know I will come barring gifts that the boys deserve! I am really leaning towards focusing on this as my next upgrade. Looking forward to more reviews-- the only thing I've seen or read about that I was disappointed in was that it is a mini usb connection rather than a micro usb. Mini usb cables are a pain to track down "in the wild" and most use the micro usb connection. I'm just really surprised at the choice, they thought of everything else I'd dreamed of- even a built in light and a kickstand, but mini usb? You're killin' me Nokta! Everyone thinking about getting this, be sure to have a couple of extra cables for backup- you can still get them from Amazon at least.

Most machines use the Mini because it's more rigged and doesn't break as easy as the micro. Yeah it's nice to have everything universal but I understand their reasoning.

Good Video... That machine shines like I thought it would ! I'm up for a new purchase of a machine built with today's electrical components ... because my Explorer II is over 15yrs. old. The Impact is on my short list along with the Safari. Impact Pro Pack and Safari are the same price. Safari is a few yrs old now... Minelab screams quality to me... But seems their newer tech is not affordable for me (30/30). Impact screams fresh thinking... & it's a kind of do it all machine. A little like the Deus in some ways with the 3 frequencies and fast recovery and depth that you demonstrated, along with a multitude of search modes. Minelab's 705 Xterra... is cheaper, and has the selectable frequencies by changing coils.. I was considering the gold version (that coil isn't water proof) and then maybe a 10.5", 7 kHz for a general search coil... that combo would fall in at about $750-ish. In my mind, I was thinking the single freq. searching might be better than the FBS. Only thing that scares me about a Impact purchase... and this usually happens to me.... I buy it, then right after they come out with like a completely water proof one. LOL which I would like even better, and wouldn't mind twisting off a few more peso's for that feature. I really hope you use the Impact on more of your hunts... not to review... but just to show more digging with it. Happy Hunting

This machine has been added to my arsenal. It's impressed me that much. I can't wait to use it next hunt. It will take some time before you see it in a Wednesday video. I have a bunch of hunts yet to edit. I hope it keeps impressing me. Minelabs are quality machine but they're overpriced in my opinion. The 3030 never impressed me once. Just didn't fit my style.

That was a good video. You did a good job pointing out some pros and cons. Hope you can find some time to try it out on some really deep targets in a test garden. I am very interested in how deep it will go. When you said it retains the vdi numbers on deep targets that is a good sign. I am wondering just how deep it will go before loosing the vdi readings. I didn't adjust too much. I run the iron volume at 2 or 3. And crank the gain up to 95/96 depending on what the site allows. I like to crank it up till it gets chatty then dial it back till it's stable. 14khz. It's a good machine. It's impressed me every time I've used it. All the best

Great job, Kurt - nice field test! I've heard that battery life is the big issue with this unit. Not surprising to see you dig some good targets at the Indian Head Burial Ground. I loved the FORSRelic, but the arm cuff seemed small and uncomfortable. How was the arm cuff on the Impact? HH

I agree. Dig it ALL. It's only through digging all the target signals that you will in time learn the tones the machine is revealing to you. I used to dig 99% trash ! LOL ! My first year was painful but, I did find some cool stuff. Now into my ninth year hunting and several machines being used I have learned much. My first machine was a Whites DFX 300. I also have a Whites M6 Matrix. Great machines and a good company. Get some !

Wow.. that's a lot of quarters.. the AT-Pro reads a quarter at 85-87 also.. I think you have AT-Pro too... Last year I think I found 5 or 6 - $1 coins.. They are fun to find.. some nice Indians.. GL & HH
