About me…. I’m normally hitting the parks or the beach with one of the many detectors I use for metal detecting the beach and fields. Metal Detecting can be fun and at the same time a nightmare due to the way the beach is always shifting, but if you hit it on a good day... BOOM! could be GOLD could be SILVER! Incredible. You can use these videos as a kind of online education but they’re really not! Oh and make sure you’re detecting is legal.

Metal Detecting is a good way of chilling out, its a good bit of therapy, fresh air, long walks. Its also a bit like those unboxing videos you see on youtube because even though you have an idea of what's buried below your feel you're never really sure. I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. Arron, I'd recommend getting both a UK coin identification book, and a children's history book. It's not a Bun Head penny but a Young Head: they were made of copper rather than bronze, and you were looking for the date in the exergue on the reverse, when all such coins just had the floral motif there, with the date under the bust on the obverse. You suggested 1808, which would be George III, not one but three monarchs before Victoria (the children's history book would tell you that), then 1868, which would make it a Bun Head, with the date in the exergue. Still, what you lack in knowledge, you more than make up for in enthusiasm!

Pre 1860 Victoria penny, they were twice as heavy as the post 1860 pennies.

that vicki penny is like the one I found with the Quest. I don't know why they made it so big when you think that the later george III pennies were smaller. maybe it was her forst coinage and made it big to make a statement? 👍

I don’t just use Nokta, I use lots of brands, the Apex is a great easy to use detector but not as deep as the legend in my tests

@@SouthCoastDetecting Thanks. I know. Sorry, that(focused) was meant as an exaggeration. So it's 1:1. A certain Mr. Krauze from Estonia (Академия Поиска, Hobby Detecting), who also tests detectors, again recommended Apex with a large coil. Now it would take a some third person.
