About me…. I’m normally hitting the parks or the beach with one of the many detectors I use for metal detecting the beach and fields. Metal Detecting can be fun and at the same time a nightmare due to the way the beach is always shifting, but if you hit it on a good day... BOOM! could be GOLD could be SILVER! Incredible. You can use these videos as a kind of online education but they’re really not! Oh and make sure you’re detecting is legal.

Metal Detecting is a good way of chilling out, its a good bit of therapy, fresh air, long walks. Its also a bit like those unboxing videos you see on youtube because even though you have an idea of what's buried below your feel you're never really sure. I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. Honest and realistic most my days at the beach find only junk, but thats the truth you mighy get a few coins the odd time but thats it, im only new to it im sure i will get better right now i dig everything just to learn. But we will soldier on i still love it

I took my new Legend out yesterday for the first time... and guess what I got for a first coin... an Irish OH Buggar! Yep... and I thought of you... yep, the OH Buggar bit has stuck in my mind... although, these days, I call decimal two pee's "Aldi trolley tokens!!" Anyway... first day out with the MF machine... what a pleasure! 40 odd coins - including two silvers - one you would be proud of - 1910 KE VII 6d! OH... and I "found" a ring - and I think you may have found something similar not long ago... BUT, the best of the day... I got a REAL OH Buggar! Yep, a UK QE2 two pence!! So... the moral of the story - I'll send you that in return for an OH Buggar sticker... or patch... or whatever! Thanks Sir... I enjoy your videos and have learned good stuff from you... long may you detect!

Unfortunately I don't think I saw your last video but I would say if the spoon was very small and like you mentioned it was on a chain it could possibly be a snuff spoon which was part of a set of other tools on a chain for taking snuff

They've killed it as you said..until it it gets washed down. .... So many 60s ring pulls. I stopped digging 31 VDi....so much iron to ,..... always a good film tho ... And please keep doing them. Nice to know it's not just me....we need to compare settings.....

Can one of our knowledgeable friends please tell me is it OK to go on ANY public beach or are some councils a no? What about parks and public places? I asked southend Council. Beach and foreshore is a yes Parks no.

Beaches are OK parks not ... just recommended to check details on exact council as some beaches have habitat protection and you need a special permit and some councils want you be registered on their website ( your name and address)

You could have saved yourself the bother of digging up that second tent-peg when it showed the same VDI number as the first. Except it didn't. Because they never do. Because beaches by their very nature are highly mineralised and full of junk, both ferrous and non-ferrous. Proof right there that VDI displays are utterly unnecessary and unreliable, and are merely a marketing ploy by the manufacturers. Even when you thought aloud that the target would be nothing good, specifically a bottle-top, you dug it anyway. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're going to dig a decent signal regardless of those pointless numbers,, so just dig it. The manufacturers really do take us for mugs.
