If you are chasing small gold, use the small 7x4" coil, it is dynamite. The open web 9x5" GK24 coil is great for more mineralised soils, but fit the solid skid plate which is available as an accessory. Basically use Gen, iSat 2, and Sensitivity as high as you can tolerate. Volume on max with the wireless headphones. Threshold should always be set to a faint hum, but not too faint where it starts to break up. Check out this channel for plenty of gold action with the Gold Kruzer kzbin.info/door/H0PSt-joEAbbLK-PQrzWGw

Hi Nenad, I am looking to buy a larger coil for my GPX 5000 and would love a expert opinion on what coil to get. I currently use the 11" commander mono and a 15" commander eliptical i never see people using them these days tho. I have been looking at a Nugget Finder 19" Round Evolution Spoke Coil but still unsure as it's a big purchase at almost $600. I work fairly heavy mineralised ground so a coil that can punch deep in hard conditions is what i am after. Cheers Nick :)
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 6 жыл бұрын
The Commanders are still good coils. They just don't hit as hard as the new flat winds, but you just have to push the settings a bit harder as they do handle the ground very well. The 5000 and 19" Evo is a great combo. See my video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXWxdpaEja93o8U

hiit appears a lot more complicated to set up and run compared to the gold monster 1000. is it as good as that unit and would you mind sharing the running setting as I couldn't figure it out in the video. thanks
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 6 жыл бұрын
The Gold Monster has Auto Sensitivity and Auto Ground Balance so is essentially switch on and go, but you still have to spend the time to pump the coil and give the machine a chance to tune itself in. The GB on the Kruzer is more instant, and you can hear if you are out of balance because of the threshold, you just have to push the right buttons. I go through the set-up on the video, basically: Turn on, GB, set Sensitivity, and adjust iSat if required.

Hi Nenad. We have SDC, 7000 and a monster. We love the first two but as much as I try I can’t get to enjoy using the monster. Sometimes I want to climb through creek beds and gullies so a very light detector is all I want, when looking through rockbeds and banks. Do you think the GK would be better than the GM or should I forget VLF altogether. We are in WA eastern goldfields so really mineral soil. With the GM I can’t distinguish my test nugget from the other sounds on manual and on auto, I loose it. What do you think?
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 4 жыл бұрын
In really high mineral soils, all VLF's can struggle. Have you tried a very low manual Sensitivity setting? The Gold Kruzer has a couple more fine tuning options at its disposal like iSat when in all-metal, or when in one of the Disc modes (Fast would be best in mineralisation) you have an iMask setting which is like a ground filter. But there is still a limit with VLFs, and sometimes the ground can be too much.
@goldfools5445
@goldfools5445 4 жыл бұрын
@@diggingwithphasetech Great reply. Sounds like I should just stick with the SDC for creek work. I always thought that sometimes the ground is just too hot for the monster. I have been told many times that I just don’t know what I’m doing. As you are probably one of the most knowledgeable in the industry, I take your comments with respect. 👍

Do you still use this? I went off it for a while and grabbed an equinox 800 but have decided I prefer the Kruzer, I do think it is better in the goldfields, and the after market coil seems to have a good pinpointer for stuff in the scoop. Cheers
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech Жыл бұрын
Still in the kit, but tbh doesn't get much use as the 6000 is sensitive enough. I have used it as a pin-pointer when using bigger coils on the GPZ and 4500. Also a good machine to give to my son when he tags along as it's super light.
@theGoldWolf
@theGoldWolf Жыл бұрын
@@diggingwithphasetech I guess if I had a 6000 I would be the same, with the 10x5 coil was quite happy to be able to pinpoint in the scoop, it idd do that part ok, yep being light helps with my tennis elbow and bung shoulder, thanks for your reply! Regards..

I have occasionally used Boost to check a suspected signal that I get when searching in Gen mode, but just as easy to scrape a bit of dirt off and recheck. But that can work well in rocky terrain.

Is it as sensitive as the Minelab Eureka Gold? I used to constantly find sub grain pieces of gold the size of a pin head with the regular DD coil and always hunted in boost mode. I noticed the detector stays silent when you bump the coil on a rock, unlike the Minelab. Why did you change coils?
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 6 жыл бұрын
Very sensitive to tiny gold. The Eureka Gold had 3 frequencies, so the coils had to work on all three. The Kruzer is all about sensitivity, so all coils are optimized for 61 kHz. Yes, it is very good when bumping rocks, but will still ping off if you hit something hard enough - this is just the nature of high freq VLF machines. The footage was recorded on 2 different days due to my camera running out of memory. I was in open ground, so I wanted a little more ground coverage.

hello good night, very good videos, I have the same detector (Makro Gold Kruzer) and I wanted to ask you if you would be so kind to share your settings with me for the search of nuggets, thank you very much and greetings from Argentina.-
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Walter, I like Gen mode, iSat on 2 or 3, Volume on Max with the wireless headphones, and Sensitivity as high as the ground allows before you start getting excessive false signals. I also like to use the headphone adaptor and wired headphones as it gives a much more powerful output, so turn the volume down to a nice level. Fast mode also works well where you wish to reject iron. Best of luck with your prospecting!

"Hot Rock" was a terminology given to the failures of the original VLF/TR detectors.They would sound off ghastly on rocks and ground that contained no metalic mineralization. More than %60 of the gold on earth is fluxed with other metalics and is less than %40 pure. That is not "hot rock" even though some detector manufactures call it that. Nokta Makro is not one of them. You have to crush, pan and burn or heap leach. Mining instructions are usually not included with the metal detector.
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure about overseas, but everyone in Australia still uses the term hot rock. Also, most of our gold that's detected here is well over 90% pure. In South Australia a lot of our gold has a high silver content but it would still be 70% gold if not more. There are some areas here where the gold is reported to be close to 98% pure.
