RETURN OF THE DIRT BOX ! Great vid as always Arron , very informative. Looks a good bit of kit The Legend I think Nokta Makro are onto another winner 👍
@chuckswenson80443 жыл бұрын
With this test you can put a nail stationary in one of the tubes ,and move a coin below the nail and it will not affect the depth. simply because it does not read iron that is not in motion with the coil being stationary (don’t take my word for it try it)
@SouthCoastDetecting3 жыл бұрын
Obviously….. the nail would need to be in motion along with the coin. Simple.

Really good job in the testing and video and nice idea and nice design of the dirt box. I know it’s a lot of work to make the box but what a great job you did. I wonder if you ever thought about making another box filled with beach sand and salt water from the same beach. I would love to see some test of this detector and other beach detectors to see how they compare in sand and salt water in a “Sand Box”. I’m going to subscribe so I can see your other videos. It's apparent some viewers didn't listen to you opening statements about your box test. ( Eventhough you've conducted tests like this with different brands just to get a comparative idea). In the end, it's going to be a personal choice between two mostly equal detectors between Australia/Malaysia and Turkey products and the value of each....France (@ more than double the price) appears to outperform the both of them. And at that price, it shoud.

Neat test, I wonder if the Legend works even better on wet salt? The ML Sovereign isn’t known for air testing depth but in low minerals and salt, the signal/depth in wet salt is actually better. All other non MF machines suffer terribly and even Fisher CZ loses sensitivity in salt, especially on small gold and/or white gold. Side point, do you have a video of your cool looking, dirt/test bucket, how it was made, neat!

Would seem to me that, a machine able to detect 16 inches deep- though a plastic lid- plastic pipe is pretty darn good.......im thinking the 2 layers of plastic is a little more difficult than detecting ona beach or on a field....

True BUT as an apples to apples comparison against other machines it's a useful tool. The conditions change at every location and all detectors will have to deal with them so there's no way to ever test that other than live digging real targets with multiple machines which just takes forever to do.

Why doesn’t it show depth every time you put an item below the coil??? It’s like the detector isn’t working properly. What is the ring and iron at the bottom of the screen, it never moves even on your ring detection

You wont get those depths in reality . Ground conditions , sweep speed , recovery speed , sensitivity and noise will increase or reduce depth . You can only reliably find targets when you get a clear two way sound , broken one way or spitty targets are going to be missed or discounted . Unless you dig every spit and go slower than a snail. Seems to be good though. Thanks Arron.

He mentionned at the begining of the video that it was not representative of the actual ground but it was inbetween air tests and garden tests.
@garetheastwood51793 жыл бұрын
And you wouldn’t get anywhere near that when the grass has flattened down in winter and the coil isn’t sitting hard down, would be more interesting to see how it does with natural iron or back fill in the ground because that’s where the simplex struggles especially on its recovery speed 👍🏻

The target depth indicator does not work. Why? The battery charge indicator shows only two divisions, which means that the detector power is lower than with a full battery. There is a Simplex+ test and it shows that the detector sees targets better with a full battery. Thanks for the test and this funny barrel with holes. lol! We are waiting for more tests from you.

Why to build and use this dirt box if you are just doing an Air Test? This is exactly what you performed in your video. (actually this is the most bizzare version of Air/Bench testing I've ever seen!) If you don't move the coil over the dirt, the dirt is NOT detected and therefore doesn't affect the detection field and DEPTH! Simple physics. (though I wouldn't want to see such a cool looking dirt box going to the dump)
