Valeria : Smuggle and selling narcotics, weapons, and harboring international terrorists. -> Death sentence Nolan : International terrorist, complicit in mass killing of hundreds in Verdansk, breaking and entering into a maximum security government priosn. Defecting. -> Death sentence Makarov : International terrorist, main complicit in mass killing of hundreds in Verdansk, escaping a maximum security government prison, hijacking and killing a russian plane. -> Death sentence The fact that ANY of them were kept alive 24 hrs after their imprisonment is just baffling. Makarov is becoming close to a modern Hitler if they follow the OG. For him there is not verdict other than death, and same for his followers. Technically, if MW was kept realistic, Valeria would have been executed, Makarov would have been executed in 2019, and Konni would have never formed, thus Shadow would have never lost the cargo, never would have betrayed 141, and technically MW2 and MW3 would have never happened.

Almost all main villain arcs begin with a horrible series of defeats for the heroes, it sets the tragic theme and desperation for the MCs, however this was not that. It was a fanfic, like "My guy comes in and kills your guy" "And my guy stabs your guy and-" "AND AND my guy shakes it off because he's THAT guy, and just fucks your guy, and kills everyone infinity plus one". This is a fanfic. You know how when we were kids we used to say and everything is good and we win and the end? This was that. 0 impact, just a child who likes Konni fucking the story like its his prison wife. MW 2019 had impact, it felt human. You had this passionate but green Sgt, who wanted to save lives but was tied down by the very government who was sworn to protect the people. You had this seasoned Captain who has lost a great many things, but still going because he knows what the true war is about, who knows the pain and darkness of killing even snakes, but endures it, lets it cast a shadow over his soul, all for a child to smile in safety. You had this born leader who has lost everything, but still fights on, even when she is violated, tortured, she still remains unbroken, unbowed. You had this soldier who has been following orders all his life, fighting wars he doesn't believe in, killing people he doesn't know, risking his life for countries he doesn't care for, and then finds something he values, and wants to fight for, not because he is told to, but because he believes in it. You had impact. You had tragedy. You had soldiers fighting just to keep the world like it was the day before. No heroes, no villains, just people. MW2 strayed from this a bit, but was still human, you had this colonel who has seen the worst the world has to offer, and still fights for a country that hates him, like a father. You had men fighting for each other not out of duty but out of brotherhood. Ghost, and Soap became brothers in Las Almas. Ghost went from this aloof, distant soldier, to a caring, vulnerable man. You had a worse story, with worse villains, and overly casting 141 as heroes, but it was still human, still grounded. Then you have MW3, 0 progress. Price is a gruffy walrus, Soap is an angry child, and Ghost is just there. It had 0 impact, 0 humanity. We should have seen Price actually having a reason for fearing Makarov, becoming emotional and having Gaz, Soap, and Ghost become his anchor. We should have had a Makarov who is misguidedly passionate about his people, and deluded about how he want to help his people thrive. Instead, he came across as a seasonal terrorist with 0 charisma or seriousness. We should have had Gaz die instead of Soap because it would have made sense for his character, because he was closest to Price, and Price would blame himself. Soap should have been kept alive for his captain arc. It was his time to shine, MW is technically Soap's story told from multiple characters. Argue all you want, but this story was lacking hard. They could have at least wrote a better story with OCM.
