I can't even describe the kind of joy it gives me to hear you guys talk so knowledgeably about old text adventure games- that was my childhood too but it feels like such a rare thing to connect with others about. (Back before anyone considered female game designers rare, because all game designers were rare, Roberta Williams was my idol. What average person even knows who she is?) Then how passionately you describe those experiences and move on to describe the impact of D&D. Bravo, man. You really nailed the kind of impact those kinds of stories and experiences have. There's very few celebrities I wish I could just hang out with, but you're definitely one of them. Nolan's great too, of course! I'm so glad you both started this channel!

Garth Brooks was on Muppets Tonight, which ran on ABC in...I want to say 95/96 season? Second half of the episodes premiered on Disney the next year, and Disney did reruns. It was easy to miss, and it probably was a huge mistake to not make it part of TGIF. You know, back when there was such a thing. But I was in the hospital a lot as a kid for a few years, and I remember watching it on Disney Channel during reruns. Because that, PBS, and Nickelodeon were all that they had. To this day, I feel immense gratitude to the donors for the video game carts. They had only a few playstations, but they had TONS of Super Nintendos, and they’d bring the carts around, offer you one, and you could pick a bunch of games. I played all the original trilogy (which was all that existed) Star Wars SNES games in the hospital. To sum up: support the children’s wing of your local hospital, not just St Judes, because it is absolutely miserable and terrifying to be in one as a very tiny child. And the donors who gave the hospital those games and systems really helped a lot of kids out.

You know what could be fun? The Punisher game from 2004. From what I remember as a kid, it had fun combat and really creative methods of torture/murder. One of the only games where you can shove someone into a wood chipper feet first. Also it’s a rare example of a good game adaptation of a movie from that era, with Thomas Jane playing the game version as well as the movie version of the titular character. Other fun methods of punishment in the game includes piano, rhino, forklift, and many more.

Troy, you should check out some of Chris Stapleton's work back when he was part of a group called "The Steeldrivers," specifically their "Reckless" album. I was like you, off the country wagon and not at all into that kind of music, but when I started to listen to Chris's past and present work I found a way back again because the music felt so real and raw, and that's very much down to his voice and how he can convey the emotion of the music. The Steeldriver's song "Can You Run," about a slave fighting for the union as a free man, has become one of my favorite songs of all time as a result of listening to Chris's early stuff.
