The best and basic version that i have ever seen. The other versions that are sold in market are too noisy and closes very fast so makes cat angry. So one question , do your cat always traps in or does it learn to not enter it after so many times trapped :) And may they find any way to open it with claws while they are in the box.

I put my cat in my cat's bag as soon as she goes into the trap. So she doesn't think yet she's trapped. If she's been trapped for a long time, there may the problem you said.

Glue doesn’t stick to plexiglass very well and it only takes a little pressure to break loose which creates a dangerous situation for the cat.

This is the purr-fect idea. I have a family of meows under my porch. I have been trying to make a trap all night before I found this video. Making a trigger for a traditional "pull the door closed" style trap was too damn hard. I have a cat carrier. I was able to use bungee cord to close it tight and fast just fine, but making a trigger from found household materials was not going anywhere. I'm just going to bait the cat carrier now and leave it on it's side so the cats climb in and the door closes on them. This was an excellent mental snack. Thanks for uploading this great idea!

I built this but unfortunately it didn't work for me. The stray cat I tried to capture is too smart, he noticed right away the door works and did not go all the way in, left 1/4 of its body to sustain door while he used its claws to reach for the food till it managed to get it out and eat it. I guess it would work if I can make it longer, like 60 or 70 cm long.

Yes you need to make it longer and the cat is Not "smart" it just dont trust doors so you could build an door that falls or an door that is on the ground and pushes itself up

IDK how safe this cage is. I have to catch a bunch of wild guys who will scratch, bite and otherwise try to escape. In other words you would not be able to just push the door up and let the kitty transfer to the carry cage. I'd be a torn up, bloody mess and have to get rabies shots for the rest of my life.

I made a strong wire one, similar but door trips shut when cat stands on board inside, similar to mouse trap, 2 handles definitely needed on top as they go absolutely ballistic and try ram the door open,that one wouldn't last 2 seconds with cat not your own, would need 2x1 across bottom + screwed in,ive had some bust my wire one outward at the start till i adjusted it,also a blanket over it when disposing/ removing the slimy animal to nearest motorway.
