I remember just before Katrina I was going through a firefighter certification course, the instructor was from Connecticut. He couldn't believe how closely blacks and whites worked and lived to each other. He said "this doesn't happen in Connecticut." Exact words. I have in-laws from the northeast who say the same. Yes, absolutely, racism is real here. But it's nothing like it is in the north; and it's nothing like it's portrayed on TV, those days are long gone and those people are not tolerated. The media just uses the old image of Mississippi to make a buck. I live in the deep south of MS in a neighborhood with blacks, Asians, Arabs (YES!! Muslims, ohhhh myyyy!!!!!) - my neighbors are Mexican -, whites and everything in between. We all watch out for one another and NOBODY, of any ethnicity, causes trouble on our street without all these people coming out with Glocks and 12 gauge's to protect each other. Racism wouldn't be an issue at all in general, but every time one single idiot does something racist, the media sets it up and portrays it as if everybody in the entire country is racist. And that, is simply a lie to, again, make money and gain viewership ratings.

I am actually mixed race...Aussie Aboriginal / white Irish first fleet convict. The enemy is religion not race...it is religion that gives some a chosen flag and others a nothing but slaves tag. Sorry I don’t support Trump but see his point in some things the race card is being used to divide us and is being used to hold brown people down while giving brown people an excuse to become what they want us to be...they want us to hate all whiteys because whiteys for the most part are not the enemy of brown people or anyone..they are as powerless as us. They want to destroy those that don’t meet their measures and destroy all cultures because they worship the religion of money. Nation first regardless of race and yeah that requires putting the past in the past. Funny some own their history while others hide behind their victim card. I for one am teaching my Maori / Aboriginal / white...half caste brown children to be proud of who they are...not to blame others for their choices...to be proud of ALL of their cultures and history (Maoris once ate people and my son is named after one of the last cannibal chiefs in NZ who he descends from). No race card...no victim card...just PRIDE. My choices define me and define them not the colour of their skin...

I believe honesty and truth are 2 of the highest values we have. So I am going to be totally honest. First and foremost- I am very judgemental. I think all of us are. Especially about people. It is how we are made. It was how we survived through the centuries. If we live in relatively wealthier western civilized societies, it is much easier to gather information before making judgements about others. At least we have the time and ability to do so without being forced to make snap decisions for our lives for the most part. In other words, we have the luxury to get to know strangers, to put ourselves in others shoes before we judge them as compared to most of human history. My values are to judge people not based upon their looks, color, etc. I judge based upon the BEHAVIOR of people. That being said, I am human and have to be honest. If a behavioral trait is associated with a physical exterior trait, the human part of me might make a judgement call if Im pressed for time, in a bad mood, or otherwise having a very bad day to make a decision based upon outside appearances & characteristics. I dont think Im alone. I think we all do it regularly. If we see a female dressed in revealing clothing, we might assume she might want some kind of attention drawn to her at some point from someone. If we see a man dressed in a suit and tie or a nice sweater we usually judge they are not gang bangers. We could be wrong in these assumptions, but we will usually be correct most of the time. We could take the time and ask every individual "how its going" and attempt to befriend them etc and find out. But usually we just assume the odds are correct and move on in whatever we are doing. It gets much more uncomfortable and controversial when racial, gender, and a myriad of other stereotypes come into play. This is where people get chided for being judgemental or are called sexists or racists. Ill give an example: when the average person is asked to picture in their mind a pedophile, who does that person to the average American look like? Odds are a majority will say a white man. Is that racist? Sexist? If we look at crime stats we may find that while pedos can come from all walks of life, the majority in America are white men. Comparing other crime statisics to sterotypes like rape, theft, murder, etc reveals very politcally incorrect conclusions. Are we bad if we make these quick judgements without taking time to get to know the individuals involved? Is it bad of me to avoid walking near groups of people on a sidewalk wearing gang attire if Im alone because I am afraid there is a chance they could have violent intentions even if I dont know for sure? Is it bad of me to continually avoid these areas completely because I just dont want to put myself at the higher risk of trouble happening to me, or is that me being too judgemental of people I dont know? In the end, when Im confronted with these competing values, I just end up avoiding people which saddens me. Id love to meet new people and get to know them. Im reminded of the MGTOW movement, which I sympathize with. For those that dont know, it is groups of men who get together online or in person to talk or better themselves without women. Most all of them have gone through terrible breakups and divorces and many have been treated unfairly by the court systems regarding their children and assets. So many of these men have written off all women completely because of their bad experiences with their crazy ex. They wont even contemplate that there are still good & decent women around. Lol. We humans are mixed bags. We often intend good but never seem to get there. Im not sure if we all can ever unite as many here have expressed. At our base, all of us are very tribal. We are made to oppose diversity in order to survive on one level. Our DNA still tells us Stranger = Danger. It worked for thousands of years and is still going. Dont know if we can just change those hardwired things overnight. My guess is that it will take a long time in the great scheme of things. We cant change the world, but we can control ourselves and raise our children to control themselves.

@@Nightshade1881 Yes, cause Shaq is rational and not a racist who likes to stereotype, make assumptions, and white shame white people out of racism and hatred. This also applies verse visa towards racist whites who stereotype black people as well. Everything should go both ways not one way, cause it leads to division, not unity. and that's what people like you want, is division.

@@Nightshade1881 Is that what you got from Caleb’s comment? I read it so different. As opposed to anyone who can’t be logical or think for themselves instead of going along with whatever others think they’re supposed to believe or be like. Great video and I appreciate you being the type of man you are and helping show the rest of the world we are all the same… felt real and some people might need to hear your opinions and wake up too. this one hit deep for sure to a lot of people for me it was connecting with other people who get the message too and we don’t all see the division. flexin on sea turtles You should deeper into stuff instead of just looking for a reason to be upset. You shove all these ad hominem attacks on the man but you don’t know him. He’s not racist, he’s an upstanding guy and so he supports trump? There’s bad guys on all sides, and Trump ain’t one of them. That’s coming from me, a black inner city boy who plays guitar and sings and raps and everything else. I also support Trump. Am I a traitor? Let’s bridge the gap and learn to find common ground and be cool with each other instead of create more tension and making the world an even worse place.
