I began following Tom's girl, Nova, about 15 years ago. I remember when Tom entered her life and they began collabing. I remember they were both down and out, struggling, and now look at them. Tom is now the largest indie artist on the planet, literally giving mainstreamers a run for the numbers. Nova is also a huge part in that, not just cause she's the filmmaker, but because she was actually signed to a label, and has industry experience. Look at them now. I don't always like Tom's music, sometimes its comes off as contrived, as he's often riding the same topic. He has grown as an artist tho, and he's evolved to dial back on the over production of his hooks. This song is fire tho, and I'm just deeply proud of him, and Nova. Hard work is the secret, not talent. Talent is the product of hard work.

I’m in my early 40’s and have listened to many types of hip hop music in my life and I have found that Tom has become the most popular artist that I’ve ever heard with respect to the great 2pac and biggie smalls. He raps about problems in and around our country and no one has ever done that before but I could be wrong. His music just has a way of really making us think about things and that if we want something to change we should help make it happen and make our voices heard. I love this entire song because @ 52, a woman...I've seen a lot & now I see things I never thought I would see & wish I could unsee them. Personally, Tom's 3rd verse hit harder because of my kids who graduated HS last June 2023. I remember when they were in elementary, middle & high school...they would tell me what they were teaching them in school. A lot of it of course I corrected (because I'm Gen X and then truth was still being taught) I told them the actual facts. My husband hated it because it wouldn't help them on a test. I said to them what they learn retain only for a test because what I'm teaching you both, you'll need in life. I raised my Gen Z kids how I as a Gen X was raised, God, discipline, love, respect & hard work. So they're not like these crazy Gen Z kids out there. I fear for them & my future grandkids.
