If you are going to get into U2, they are definitely an important brand in the history of rock music. Pride in the name of Love, When Love Comes to Town, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Desire, Angel of Harlem, With or Without You, Where the Streets Have no Name. Post early 1990s though they kind of went in a totally different direction and most of that material I just can't get into.... IMO, they always their early years for good material. I know some will feel differently though.

That man singing, Bono, has saved millions of lives in Africa. He never stops. U2s music is for the thinking men and women. I'm not saying you are not I'm just saying maybe you should listen to some more. Every song has deep meaning but Bono writes in poetry so you have to listen to figure it out. His childhood hero Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's song is AWESOME. Tha FBI told him there was a hit put on his life if sang it. That inspired him to sing it louder.

Never heard of U2 or Bono? Have you been living underground all of your life? They have been going since the late 70's and have been the biggest band on the planet since 1987, Bono is so recognised for his importance on humanitarian work that he has met with multiple US presidents and world leaders many times,one of the most recognizable people on the planet over the past 30 years and you say ''he looks like someone ive seen before?'' Yes he looks like Bono who has written sons for other artists such as Tina Turner, Frank Sinatra,Johnny Cash, Zucchero and Tom Jones.To get a real feel of what U2 are about you have to watch them live as thet are recognized as one of the greatest live bands of all time and their shows are epic both vocally and visually and break box office records on every tour.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnq5hpmJf6yUo5Y

@Mustaffa-Ahnus
@Mustaffa-Ahnus 3 жыл бұрын
@@kimbunchalastnames5357 agree with you to a certain extent but the point i am making is about U2 and Bono in particulars fame, he is one of the most recognized entertainers in the world and has been for decades, bit like someone saying they have ever heard of Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley or Elton John, Bono's fame is on a par with any of the above whether you listen to or enjoy their music or not.
@kimbunchalastnames5357
@kimbunchalastnames5357 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mustaffa-Ahnus i understand, truly. but that's coming at it from your own worldview, kwim? consider that the band has been around for 40 years or so -- most of their fame was garnered back in the day, with news coverage of tours and films like "rattle and hum." they're no longer pervasive, and the culture they're a part of -- as far as most 20-somethings are concerned -- is in the past. it's been "okay boomer"ed. there's just not a lot of reason for most people under a certain age to know the name, unless they've heard their parents mention it ... and, when you were that age, did you memorize the names your parents dropped about the singers they thought were the best?

raspy singers actually sound like men not girls or boys like most the male singers today lol... check Chris Cornell ( soundgarden, audioslave), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) Zep, The Who, JOE COCKER, Dr John, The Doors, Rival Sons. I agree with below about the Joshua Tree it is THE album from U2 but the live version of the song "Bad" and "The Unforgettable Fire are amazing. For rap you should check out Hopsin, Watsky, Deltron 3030, Blackalicious, Qveen Herbie!, Tom Macdonald, Logic, A-F-R-O and get away from all this mumble trap crap I'm 52 (and white lol) and probably know more underground rappers than people half my age because I look for quality instead of popularity. So far so good you guys keep it up! - Peace!
