I’ve seen a couple reviews on this one, and I noticed that I’d just a couple shades are used, with a “lay down and lightly blend” method, the looks are great.

Hi! Just wanted to point out that Pora Pora isn't a typo. Nomad always uses the native language version for their shade names on the back of the box, and as far as i know, Pora Pora is the original Tahitian name, where as I think Bora Bora came from French settlers? (if anyone knows better than me pls correct me if i'm wrong!!)
@MakeupJustForFun2 жыл бұрын
Interesting... I wonder why not just use the same name inside and out? Seems unnecessarily confusing.
@ashley-xq2fy2 жыл бұрын
@@MakeupJustForFun yeah, I think it’s especially confusing on this one because (as far as I’m aware) the rest of the names are already in the native language. I noticed this back when the Haunted Europe palette came out, a bunch of the shades on that one have translated names on the back, but I think it made more sense on that one!
@MakeupJustForFun2 жыл бұрын
That's super weird... I looked again and a lot of the names are different from packaging and the actual palette. I wish they would just stick with one or maybe include both names inside and out. The idea of using the native language is cool but it seems a little bit off to only put it on the box which is usually thrown away by most consumers 🤔
@ashley-xq2fy2 жыл бұрын
@@MakeupJustForFun oh I totally agree! I wish it was at least on the back of the actual palette instead of just the box!
@ashley-xq2fy2 жыл бұрын
And I think it’s place names that get especially confusing, especially when Pora Pora is so similar to Bora Bora (I believe it’s pronounced like Bora Bora also) really if the rest of the place names are all the native versions than that should stay consistent.

Amanda, I appreciate you going for it with the first eye look. A little modification and it would be a great look. I’m really inspired by both looks

The package design is stunning, I love how part of the purchase goes to helping the Coral Reefs. The colors are so pretty, the shimmers look amazing. I like the look you created with this palette

Thank you for your honest review. I wasn’t sure why I wasn’t super intrigued by the color story when it was announced, because I love tropical shades. But now I know it’s because of lack of depth. The look you created is very cute though!

i have a few Nomad palettes, not this one, but I have not played with them a lot. I have found the performance and texture of Nomad shades to differ a little from other brands. Nikki Raven recommends the Kiko (Europe brand) eye primer paired with the Nomad products. Something a little extra grippy but not too sticky!

I absolutely had to buy this palette on launch day because I'm so so excited! I like alot of their palettes but have only actually pulled the trigger on one before but I'm so ready for this one to make it to me!

I appreciate this review! It seems quite patchy, but you’re right the packaging and the colors are so pretty. I’ve been a Tahitian dancer for a few years & this would be a great gift to give to my dance sisters in our company. I’ll look into the website forsure :) thank you !

I have had trouble like you had when I try to layer too many shadows on top of each other...I find that if I keep it relatively simple things work out a lot better...I usually just use one matte in the crease and one shimmer on the lid and maybe one deeper shade at the corner. I also try to keep like colors together instead of mixing a bunch of unrelated colors together. I've really ended up with a mess when that happens. All in all, your eye looks were beautiful...some palettes just have more of a learning curve than others.

I purchased this pallet when I saw it not sure if it was launch day or not. I do not own a rainbow pallette and that this might do the trick. I actually have quite small lid space so often only use a max of three colours so I'm hoping not to have the issue with layering that you found.

I like the packaging and color story, but I've had performance issues with some of their older palettes so I just admire them from afar. But I'm always rooting for this brand.

I asked for this for my birthday which is coming soon, and now I'm wondering if I should have. lol I do like it, but I'm a little concerned now. I also already have the Fade into Hue palette by ColourPop. Loved the purple look you created. Very pretty.

I feel like different brand formulas require sometimes different formula primer as well and it could really benefit the palette to its full potencial to find what works for the formula(coming from me who owns literally only two eye primers :D ) I have so far only Whistler from Nomad and can't complain, that palette is amazing, but I am curious how this one will work for me, its on the way and I also prefer the dept so I think I will try to use this as more retro easy just one two shades with focus on the black eyeliner or dark lashes or something. Just wish it had one or two extra mattes instead of few shimmers

I don't own the 2 comparison palettes & will probably pick this up later this year. I will re-watch some other reviews but don't remember seeing any struggles with the colors.

It’s disappointing that a pretty palette like that is not doing so well. But I’m not much into rainbows as much and I like a more nuanced rainbow palette now, like it has some neutrals to ground it a little. If I want a specific shade, I just go for a super shock shadow or something like that.
