I haven’t been back to Tawas in 25 years or so. My parents lived there for 30 years and my brother graduated H.S. from there… Sadly, they have all since passed. 💔 My son and I would visit my parents almost every weekend throughout his childhood, going to all the beaches, parks and marina. Thank you for bringing back the beautiful sights, sounds, waves and birds of Tawas on Lake Huron. 💛💙

Awesome job on this one❤I live in a very similar small town in Ohio, we have a hotel Walmart, bike trails, dog park etc if you're ever near Bellville (55 mins south of Cleveland off I-71) 24:10 . Can't wait to see where in the UP you end up next.😊

Your channel just popped up for me to watch. Im glad i did. My daughter went to college in the Upper Paniculaa at MTU. She lived there for 5 years. Now she is in lower Michigan and is homesick for the Upper Paniculaa. It's beautiful up there this time of the year. Im so glad to have found your channel. Loved your video!

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned yet, but for less than $15 you can get a state park pass. Then you’d have access to any Michigan state park day use area for a year. The further north you go the more boondocking and state/national forests you’ll find.

❤I spent 2 weeks visiting Michigan last August it was awesome. I enjoyed Tawas. My favorite places to camp were right outside of headlands dark sky park (you're not allowed to park inside the park overnight-although I did one night lol) I usually stayed at the entrance in the little parking area to the right. And my other favorite place was a wonderful little place outside of Paradise. I did stop at Sault Saint Marie at the Kewadin casino for a night for their free showers and washing machine 😜 There was another wonderful campspot right on the beach on shoreline drive that I enjoyed quite a bit until the weekend, when others moved in 😊 but they were nice and the site was huge so it was ok. ❤ I really was surprised by Michigan.

Just take a couple days more where you are. It seems like you found your happy place. The UP wont see snow till the end of Oct. But depending on where you want to go, you could get stuck for the winter. I used to live on the air force base up there. It has since closed. Winters are brutal if your not prepared. Take care my friend.

My parents lived in the Tawas area. I live in Michigan, and there are a lot places here in Michigan that are much prettier. You should come to the thumb, Port Austin. It’s about 18 -20 miles across the lake. About 2.5 hours by car. Or get up to the UP. If you like nature and getting away from cities.

I live in Michigan and Tawas City is wonderful. The state park is really nice too. I wish you could go a bit farther up the road to Oscoda. You would love it. Go to the Lake Michigan side. Many many gorgeous beaches.

Tawas is a great little town. Lots of people come up from the southern cities in Michigan for long weekends. My folks lived just north of there in Oscoda, another great little town. Alpena and Harrisville are more good stops!
