so cool! thanks! so I have a table top miniature that had a ton of separate parts that I wanted to merge together. I tried selecting all the pieces and combining them using boolean. it crashed the program every time I tried. is this better to combine shapes than voxel remesh? do you know of any limitations yet, that might cause my program to crash when combining lots of meshes using boolean? awesome tutorial as usual! thanks!

Maybe combine two or three at a time instead of all at once. That usually seems to do the best. Limitations can be what hardware you are using as well as too high a resolution of the mesh. Try voxel remising to a lower count without losing detail. Remember tabletop minis lose some detail anyway when you decimate your model. Let me know if this works or not for you. Thanks!

@@Original-Werks thanks, I'll try it out! how low do you decimate your minis? or is it pretty much case-by-case?
@Original-Werks Жыл бұрын
Any time I use decimation, it really is case by case. I zoom into an area that is the main focus of the mini and decimate a few times looking for a loss of too much detail. It also depends on if I am printing on my FDM or resin printer. A good place to start for file size is around 50MB.

hi, so now we are supposed to use more boolean actions instead of classic voxel? Im sorry, but I'm a beginner and I was just understanding voxel and now there's this..a little bit confusing
@Original-Werks11 ай бұрын
You can still use voxel merge, the new boolean operations help bring more options to you as a sculptor. Boolean ops give you the option to remove, add material without having to re-mesh like you might if you are voxel re-meshing. Hope this makes things more clear for you.
