This melts my brain haha. You do such a good job with these I just don’t understand any of what is going on! Haha. I’ve wanted to be able to wrap a physical texture around for a for printing and I was hoping this is what that was. Alas I dont think so, right? For example wrap a large fur texture around a beast and have it not stretch or a texture of chain mail around the torso of a figure and have look good. Your example here is amazing. I wish it was able to be used simply and in more applications! Thanks so much!

Would it not be easier to paint the 3D printed object?

@@Ponk_80 oh I mean create the physical texture for 3D printing of chain mail or fur or whatever. Not the 2d texture. Currently when you make a texture in procreate for example, of fur or something and use it as an alpha, it stretches as the mesh curves. So it never looks right.

This is the only way to do such things with Nomad Sculpt at the moment. You only have to practice it 100 times 😂.

Ok so to confirm you guys this is not displacing the mesh physically right? It’s only displacing the height map? Wish we could 3d print it as @Gaibriel1 says.

I tried over and over again and it just wont do nothing when i use the gizmo.. tried with sphere.. cylinder.. with everything.. dunno if i have anything switched off or on.. or if ots different after the update .. but im about to trhow the ipad into the wall

The reproject > vertex menu that you describe at 2:55 is grayed out for me. I've followed your steps exactly 3 times and it is always grayed out. I cannot move forward. 😢

You need a layer - and select the layer.

This works for 3D printing, and no, there is no other way to displace textures.
