Great job, Glen. Juggling all of these applications must be difficult, but I'm very appreciative. Thanks.

Thanks Bertifly. Not really. I’ve never believed in using one program and sticking with that. As new workflows come along with new features I love to take a look and see if we can use them in new ways. Price often stops us using them long term but it’s good to know a feature is available. For example we use Cinema4D a lot as we do a lot of TV work and the clients often request it. We do have one seat of Maya but we wouldn’t add in Modo as the costs get ridiculous. I love how Blender, VR and mobile creative tools are disrupting things and challenging the status quo. I’m old enough to remember when ZBrush was exactly that. As with a lot of this stuff the software is irrelevant it’s knowing the creative core skill underneath.

Thanks, Glen. Your teaching style is fast, but clear. And really inspiring. Most of this is still way above my current skill level. I need to practice a lot more to get the hang of all of the tools. But with months of Covid restrictions probably still ahead of us, learning the nomadic lifestyle is going to be a great help in getting through to the other side.

Fantastic video! Question, is there a major difference with using click to drag with a brush or clay with a specific alpha vs stamp? Didn't realize that's basically what stamp is and have been etching symbols into figures for a game, wondering if there is a reason I should redo them this way instead?
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
As with a lot of brushes there is a ‘base’ type and most brushes are an evolution of a type. The ‘stamp’ brush is simply a saved version of the ‘brush’ brush as is ‘clay’. I pretty much use the ‘clay’ brush with my own alpha and settings and I leave it alone. I then use the ‘stamp’ brush with its own settings as you see in this video. If you are experienced enough to be changing alphas and graph profile settings and the other setting that relate to this type of brush then you really don’t need to change what you do. It all evolved out of the early ZBrush brushes and the use of drag-rectangle mode.

@@NanoBattle awesome. That sort of feedback is why I do it. I started with ZBrush in 1999 so I remember having a handful of brushes lol.

Interested in that course too! 👍🏼 Have signed up and requested to join your FB groups. Have downloaded stamps but can’t seem to get them into Nomad. There’s no rush as I’m nowhere near using them yet, but would be good to know how... my noobness is embarrassing 🥴

Hello, Glen. I have a question about nomad. I'm trying to make surface noise as it would be named in zbrush, but i can't find a way to do it. Can you please help me with that?

Hello, Can you use zbrush alphas in Nomad or can I only import png alpha brushes?

Hi! Great #NomadSculpt Tutorial! So when you built your Custom Stamps they appeared to be approx 200x200 or 500x500 pixels square. What approx size were they? I cracked up around frames 14:35 when you suddenly announce you just had to build #TheEnterprise ! Prior to me seeing you actually do it so quickly, I figured it would normally take 2 to 3 days to build Kirk's Ship. I was so excited to see the Nomad Stamp Tool, until I felt bold enough to take out an #ImperialCruiser . But I'll continue learning how to 3D sculpt #GumbyandPokey first. Cheers!

So where are the stamps? The only thing on the linked page is the option to sign up for the news letter. There is no file download.

Hi Edward, you need to sign up but it is for the stamps and not the newsletter. We don't spam but as soon as you sign up and confirm you will get an email with the stamps in. I hope this helps.😀

Spot on, just what I needed. Its a shame that you can anchor the stamp, I want to make something with a repeating patter and getting it to line up this way is nigh on impossible
@PhilW2223 жыл бұрын
There is a setting that you can tile the alpha, maybe that’s what you need? Look under the brush dropdown.

@@PhilW222 it may be there now, wasn't 11 months ago. I'll have a look, I can barely keep up with the updates. It's a cracking app
