your comment had me imagining a whole scene/storyline - a girl just can’t catch a break after she gets off work. she clocks out late hitting overtime, walks out of her secured work building when she realizes she might actually need her umbrella (which she had taken into work and left it there a few days prior *just incase* it rained one of those days). as she’s about to try to get back into the building she can’t find her entry key/badge and it’s only drizzling at this point and is hopeful she can call her coworker or security to let her in only to realize her phone is close to dying.. she still attempts to ring as much as she can which no one answers or no voicemails are set up and after 3 calls.. dead… phone dead. her only choice now is to make it home before it rains “a bit more”. she was going to try to walk if she had her umbrella but instead of risking it she decides the bus would be the better option.. boards the bus.. no cash.. barely enough change for 2 stops.. gets off where she can.. went from a steady drizzle to moderate rain. recently out of university with major debt she has a credit card for emergencies only.. TAXI! starts to rain a bit heavier… all these cars and cabs and not one wants to stop for her.. finally one looks like it’s going towards her.. no drive past and splashed her a bit… HEAVY rain but her hand still waving when a lady drives up rolls down her window and smiles.. looks like you need to dry off.. get in! and a new friendship was born

New York is such a great place. I struggle with anxiety and I haven't really traveled that much. Until last year, february 2020 I went half way across the globe from Norway to New York. I hadn't even been on a plane before that, even though I was 25. But point being, at no time during my stay there did I feel a single pinch of anxiety. I don't know why, but this video hits deep. Admittedly I'm not from NYC - or even the states - the city I live in is much smaller, so I may have a different outlook on this to the average person. I think it's just the number of people and faces you see in this 1 hour, the snippets of conversation, and the lights on in every building you pass by. You're unlikely to ever meet any of these people again, let alone become familiar with them. They're just another person, each with their own experiences and stories, except you'll never know them. I don't know how to explain this feeling properly, just this overwhelming sense of profoundness.

The more I watch these kinds of videos, the more I realize one major thing. Not once in this video did I see someone acknowledge one another, the fact that humanity has come to be so connected and populated, yet we speak and create even the smallest of connections with no one. I struggle with this myself, as I am somewhat introverted in public spaces, but realizing this now I feel as if though I really need to change it as it seems to be a really big part of living.

There is color grading and greys/blues are dark and prominent which gives off a certain vibe. Also, the high quality of the recording and slow and steady pace of the walking allows the viewer to soak everything in much more than they would in real life. This video starts off with my actual walking commute after work, literally same streets and same side of the street, which I didn't enjoy but it was interesting to see through another perspective. The viewer has the advantage of avoiding smell, which allows them to just focus on video/audio, and that's good because E 33rd St (where the video starts off) has some sections that smell awful. The rain does wash that away though, so perhaps wasn't bad on that day.
@musicaddict1585 жыл бұрын
TheBackyardGamer i agree. When I’m walking I’m always conscious towards myself (cuz anxiety lol) and cars (I have this feeling that cars are gonna hit me especially if they are too close to me) but few days ago, I was so tired after class that I just walk mindlessly, I wasn’t thinking about anything and my environment seem more “real”, serene and calming.

my favourite weather 1. Thunder rain 2. Night and dark 3. and alone in comfortable place I don't pretend to be a bad person or anything, it's purely what is in my heart. I have stayed up late all night for the past 4 years, I sleep during the day, and wake up at night, mostly I am active at night, like a bat. maybe other people find it weird, but that's normal. I can still wake up in the morning when there is any interest, I can not be in a crowd like: mall or music concert with a noisy sound. one day when a lot of trouble came I was devastated (I can't tell it) maybe I was depressed, after things began to improve, I thought about, what is the purpose of life? Is the Day of Resurrection true? then I read the Qur'an, and the contents are not as I thought so far, all the answers I was looking for are in this book. This book has saved me from darkness, right now I try not to sleep late, because when people stay up at night, THEY THINK A LOT. it would be good if the thought was positive, what if not?

In response to the comments under this, I went for a consultation to find out whether I’m eligible for Asylum in Canada and it turns out that I’m gonna have to prove that I’m in danger by possessing physical evidence such as scars, letters of threats etc. How am I supposed to be myself (LGBTQ + Atheist) in a country where I’d have my neck chopped for being either?
