12:34 - "Appreciate what you have while you have it." So very true! I'm here to tell you that it doesn't last forever. My family was never big to begin with, but most of them are dead and gone now. Lost my Grandpa in 2015, two years later I lost both my Mom and Grandma. Since then I haven't celebrated the holidays because I just can't get in the spirit anymore. All I can really say is that I was thankful for the time I had but I miss them more than I can even begin to express... Life is like that though, it's only temporary. You just have to try to enjoy the time while you have it, that's about all any of us can really do. Though I'm not celebrating, I still would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to you Eric. I'm thankful for your videos! I've been watching you pretty much since the beginning and I get to live vicariously through you. Your videos help me more than you know so thanks for sharing your life with not just me, but with the rest of the world.

Awsome recliners, bud. Just be sure your always aware when closing them to get up you have eyes on Tara and Opie, cause cats like to go underneath chairs like that and they could be injured. Modified auto is a great place i have a few friends who have used it im glad you have made friends with them all there. Ive been almost watching you from the start Eric maybe someday i'll be around an area your in cause im in St.Louis and i'll say hi. I am a fan of your filming work, wish i could film video's like you do, and have the knowledge to edit them the way you do. My heart breaks deeply for you my friend over Jax, ive lost many fur baby's over the recent years its never easy but it does get easier with time. I loved Jax too with all my heart following all your adventures with Jax man. I cant beleive what the place did to you and Jax's ashes. What actually works to prevent cats from clawing on furniture is one of them cat trees that actually have a wood pole for them to scratch on , a tall one, my cat has been scratching on his for 6 years, he loves it, he is not declawed ..that would be fun to see on one of your videos...I also cover my sofa with a throw blanket keeps the fur from collecting on the sofa.. You may want to put leg protectors under the legs of the sofa, keep that carpet from tearing moving the recliner part may rip the carpet.... WoW a jaw dropper seeing that house demolished..I thought houses had to be inspected before they go on the market for sale. I would only purchase a house with it being inspected first..we went through that already, we "almost" bought a house with termites, the inspector noticed it and informed us. we passed on the house...love your 2 reclining chairs. we have one also. Ours has where you can pull the middle piece up and make it a full sofa..you got a great one to fit where you put it...never seen one that style...Enjoy

Yes! Definitely know where especially little Opie is before closing the foot rest. I squished more than one kitty in my recliner(no permanent damage but terribly traumatic for both me and the cats)

Awwww, that’s so sweet. Opie is a cuddle kitty Little tip to keep cats from scratching on your new furniture, Get some double sided tape and put it where they want to scratch. (If you’re lucky, they will get used to NOT scratching on that particular piece of furniture, you can take the tape off and they will never bother it again)

I trained my cat to not scratch on my Pottery Barn loveseat by putting tinfoil on the front and on the arms with doublestick tape. She figured it out. Plus I wrapped a 2x6 with sisal rope from Home Depot and made it tall and sprinkled it with catnip. She figured out mommy didn't like her scratching on the loveseat but she got lots of luv and hugs and treats when she scratched the sisal 2x6. That new sofa is NICE! I hadn’t even thought about the narrow door. Our son lived in Illinois for a couple years. The rental house he was in, smelled horrible. And practically ruined everything he owned. We couldn’t figure out the smell, until we looked in the crawl space 😱. Luckily most of his furniture was used 2nd hand stuff, so threw it out & started over The holidays are hard when away from family, glad you have such good friends there. The best part about nomad life, is your friends become family 🥰

5:20 We get cartons like that at work, all the time. I don't know how they think people are going to open cartons without a knife. The trick I use is to rest the side of my thumb up against the flat side of the blade, so only a couple of millimetres of blade are sticking out. I also tend to just cut the ends of the tape, because the inner flaps of the box are protecting the contents in those locations.

We use a sisal scratching post/tower for our cat. Trained her when she was young to use it instead of the furniture. Bought another for our RV for when we travel. She leaves the furniture alone, but shreds her scratching posts.

Nice scratching post. Grandma pinned hand towels to the bottom front sides of her couch where the cats preferred to scratch. Worked pretty well. As long as you are mentally prepared for damage it makes it easier to tolerate.

Hey Eric; it's not too hard to clip the tips of the cat claws. Just a little clip with a nail clippers (lay them on their back first). They will stay blunt for several weeks and not rip the couch material. Of course don't clip down to the quick; just the tip.

What I did on my couch was to put an extra thing on the armrest. My cat claw on the armrest and left my couch alone. And every 3 year I needed to build new armrest. When people came over I to the "clawrest" on the floor and my cat went on that.

Oh how sweet the babies love there new place. And so does dad. Thats awesome. The window is perfect for them..my uncle put up flex glass on the corners. And looked awesome. Used nice rivet covers over screws he used to hold flex glass..
