OMG! I am so glad you made the comments on your tour experience. I was getting aggravated watching, making the same comments. A father of six and grandfather of four already, I can say I would not let my kids ruin my tour, much less anyone else's. You handled yourself very well. That being said, another great video.

OMG I agree 100%. I can't stand when parents are so ignorant and oblivious to the other people around them. I have walked out of places because of loud, obnoxious kids. If your kids can't keep quiet, then don't take them to nice restaurants or tours, shows, etc.

I am a cranky old fart. A young couple with an infant-to-toddler sat at the table so darn close to me in a smart restaurant in Charleston, SC. I thot, "O, shit." Other people ooh & aah over this child. The parents me offer a friendly greeting. I felt ashamed. They ordered one dinner to share & were feeding this well-behaved kid. I offer a bottle of wine, but "We don't drink." When I paid for my dinner I quietly paid for theirs too.

I wasn't sure how that tour was going to go when the dude couldn't get the truck in gear. I am glad to see the big cats in a climate more similar to their natural one. I never liked zoos, but now they seem to be a LOT better and more "natural" than they used to be. The crying child didn't get on my nerves but I'm sitting in air conditioning and not filming...I could see how it could bother you. I would love to see an old jail like that one that you went in. I am with you, I think parents should know were they can take such small children and were they should not. Kids should be old enough to enjoy or learn about animals. I did travel with my 2 boys but until they were not big enough to understand I did not take them to such public places were they would be disturbing to others. I think its all about respect to others. Thank you for video, I love to watch Jax and all your adventures. safe travels

Eric I agree with you. I have raise two boys and at no time were they allowed to be a nuisance in public places. Not only children can be a nuisance but so can over talkative people on tours. Had that experience on a game drive, their talking caused the animals to stay as far away from us as they could.

In the summer of '72 I was 17. I got a summer job guiding tours at Grand Canyon Caverns, $1.35/hr plus room and board. The room was a tin shack in the hot sun w/o air conditioning. I worked 6 days a week, up to 14 hours per day. It was a long and educational summer. I wish you had taken that tour and filmed it for me.

Too bad about the sanctuary tour; I often wonder about parents who allow their children to be disruptive when it ruins experiences for others. Just watching it drove me bonkers. You missed a really good caverns place, I was looking forward to it. Another RV channel I follow also just recently passed it up, so I was excited you were planning to go, since you had it in your vid title. Tsk tsk Eric, clickbait. LOL. A wildlife sanctuary I love in Arizona is Out of Africa. It's located near Cottonwood, so if you're visiting Sedona, it is very worthwhile to make the drive for an all day visit. Much larger than this one, the Jeep takes you INSIDE the enclosures and you get up close & personal. Feeding the giraffes is my favorite. You can also feed the tigers, it's amazing. While there, I got to hold a huge Burmese Reticulated Python at the business end. He snaked his head around and slid under my chin. I never knew I liked snakes. Probably as a city gal, I'm never around them, except when hiking or camping. I can't count how many close calls I've had with rattlesnakes. Something big is next? The Grand Canyon.

There is a Seligman, Missouri just a few miles north of me. Misbehaving kids can ruin things for many. In the old days a parent would pickup and leave but not so much today. I had to applaud one Dad in Walmart one day, his son was having a minor melt down. Dad told him to stop, son started a tantrum so dad picked him up and walked him out of the store lol good dad! Those cats pacing like that means they are distressed and anxious. Makes them unpredictable. But as they are Rescue animals who knows what their previous environment was like ...
@MrJest2
@MrJest2 7 жыл бұрын
Rescued big cats are often psychologically damaged. The guide mentioned one example with the white tiger, who was a show cat for a magician. He just didn't feel safe unless he had his travel box available to retreat to - that was his "safe space" and he felt comfortable in it (even though he's probably much too large for it now without scrunching and curling up, since it was built for him as a cub/youth). Poor guy essentially has agoraphobia, and can't handle open spaces. It's sad, but at least they are doing their best to give him a comfortable environment, even if it's a "weird" one for the species in general.

#167 Hey, Eric. Enjoyed you video including the kids! As a parent of twins I agree. When they were young, we avoided tours. When much older and they could understand what they were seeing, was much better---no crying or fidgeting. Airplanes are the worst! 12 hours of kids crying, not good. So plan your flights carefully.

I understand babies on planes, trains, buses, etc. because it's a family that needs to get somewhere. I don't get why parents take their baby to the zoo (animal santuary in this case) or Disney World. Your baby isn't going to remeber anything. My parents took me to Disney when I was like 6 or 7 and barely remember the trip.

I support you 100%. You left the tour and it is your right to feel the way you do. Personally, I do not understand parents who would push on through the tour with child or children that are not happy at that moment. Parents not every situation in life is suited to your children at any given time. Walk away and chalk it up to another day another time. This is the way I feel and many others feel its their right to take their children anywhere and if this happens tough luck for the other people. Eric, people cannot stand honesty.
@OutlanderVideo
@OutlanderVideo 7 жыл бұрын
I feel you bro that's just not right of those parents. A lot of people are like that they think because they have kids they rule the world and can do no wrong. That kid is getting nothing from that experience and now all of the people that paid to take the ride have to endure that annoyance. Because they would not get a baby sitter or just wait until the kid is old enough. It's just common curtesy not to take your young kids on things like this it is very disrespectful to others. All people saying it's ok and that if you had kids you'd understand no sir your a dick with no regard for others and totally out of touch. Leave your kids at home until there ready to behave or take them to kid friendly activities with other parents that can all enjoy the sound of crying together!

Enjoyed the video very much Eric. Your experience hit one of my nerve points with how our society has deteriorated. Parents who torment society with their ME ME ME!! children should get a spanking. We raised 3 children and I can promise they never dominated, or spoiled things for my fellow citizens. It's the way I was raised and how we raised our children. As parents we would have got off the bus if we couldnt quiet the child down out of respect for everyone else on that bus. I was raised to be seen and not heard. Raised mine the same way and all 3 are fine successful, respectful citizens of our society.

I love children but I too cannot stand when they act out in public. Growing up we were taught that if we misbehaved we would be removed immediately from whatever it was we were doing, go home, and go to bed. We learned real quick not to act up. I'm not sure nowadays why parents don't do this anymore. A few ruined outings are more than worth it for a lifetime of peaceful outings, in my opinion. Anyway, these videos are great Eric! Thank you for showing your travels!

Yeah I probably would've left too. I hate when kids start screaming and their parents sit there and ignore them. When we were kids we got a hand with our parents let us know and we sat there and behaved. That's why we have so many disrespectful young adults today because there parents didn't teach them any manners. Your enjoyment should not be infringed upon. And for those people that are complaining it's called parenting.
