NE states and Darjeeling has similarity in this case (my region). We who are indigenous here (Nepali, Koch, Kamrupi, Bodo, Tharu, Dhimal, Rabha) have women shopkeeper in periodical markets. Mostly sabji ,tea shop and restaurants are run by women. In my village 90% women do agricultural works and run their own business.Due to cultural influence by outsiders now some of us(Plain region) feel ashamed by this culture and they proudly say 'Our women don't work outside '.We should learn from NE how they preserve their culture and respect women. 💚 NE is inspiration ❤

The lady while serving food asked you "Voksha ei ngai em?" which means; Do you eat pork? Mizoram is a female dominant state. Women are more productive, hardworking and educated than males. Even man goes to woman house after marriage. There women are highly respected. Not only in Mizoram in the entire North East women are treated equally with man. This is the beauty of North East India.

Wrong. Its only in Meghalaya that men goes to women's house after marriage (Khasis and Garos). Not any other northeast states.

What you observed in NE india is correct, be it a market or any other place many are managed by women.
