@@HannaHsOverInvested about the impractical armor stuff, well, they do live in a world where basically anything they have to fight is either an oversized beast, some kind of elemental, demon, dragon ,undead etc. or other humanoids, and most of them have enough power to beat through massive ice ,rock , hide, you name it. Or just straight up shoot some kind of magic at it. Then looking at the fact that most characters don´t wear plate but rather chain, leather or cloth armor, (in case of sylvanas probably something between leather and mail) i don´t really think it makes that much of a diffrence XD

@@HannaHsOverInvested you are aware, that the person your talking about is undead? I don´t think she has that much breathing to do, to be quite frank. Not to mention that she isn´t even of the human race inside the fantasy world, making a comment about where boobs naturally sit kinda interesting, if you look at most models of the character the upper part of the cup ends about the same hight as the armpit, which doesn´t look too far away from reality in many cases if you look at a sportsbra, which would kinda be what the armor would need to simulate, but im neither expert in having boobs, nor in elven biology, so that might just be my take on the Situation after comparing proportions of the charactermodels to pictures of actual females

"Why don't you all just talk to each other and be friends instead?" That has been tried, several times. Every time, it ends badly, because of one mishap or ego. The Horde initially invaded Azeroth from another world through a magic portal and destroyed the kingdom of Stormwind, and then took the fight to the other human kingdoms before being beaten, so the Alliance has never really trusted the Horde. Alternatively, Prince Arthas of Lordaeron went on to become the Lich King and terrorize the world with his undead Scourge, so the Horde are wary of the Alliance for being weak-willed and succumbing to dark magic. The Orcs have fought the Night Elves for territory, and the Orcs also committed a genocide against the Draenei on their homeworld. The Human kingdom of Alterac betrayed the Alliance to attacks from the Horde in the Second War, and the Night Elf Illidan betrayed his people by accepting demonic power in order to fight the Horde. So basically the Horde doesn't trust the Alliance to not betray them when they can't stop betraying themselves, and the Alliance doesn't trust the Horde to decide to just go on a homocidal rampage whenever they feel like it. In the Battle For Azeroth expansion, Sylvanas Windrunner "Lady Eyebrows" decides to re-ignite the war with the Alliance, literally, by burning down the Night Elves' capital, the World Tree Teldrassil, with all the civilians inside. That was why Saurfang was angry, because they murdered thousands of non-combatants and incited the Alliance to siege the Forsaken's capital of the Undercity (the city in the video).

@@HannaHsOverInvested Sylvanas is unhinged. She has a bit of a hate-boner for Night Elves because her people (High Elves, no Blood Elves) were exiled for their magic addiction and connection to the Burning Legion (Demon army summoned by their queen) and feels they should've helped when Arthas slaughtered them (raising Sylvanas as a Banshee in the process) to use their Sunwell to raise one of his minions into a Lich. She also has issues in that she was killed and sent to The Maw (Warcraft Hell) before being resurrected by a Val'kyr. However, she has limited Val'kyr and is basically terrified of dying so she is going on a rampage to get immortality and eliminate her threats. This particular war is being started because of the discovery of Azerite which is basically magic Uranium

Saurfang’s story is actually a hella sad one. He was the High Overlord of the Horde. In the WotLK cinematic, that guy you saw raise a dragon? Yeah he straight up murdered Saurfang’s son. When you see him and Zappy Boi (his actual name is Zekhan and he’s a troll Shaman which is why he has the accent, all trolls are like that). He doesn’t agree with Sylvanas’ actions, as seen where he says ‘they will come for us now!’ After Sylvanas orders them to set fire to Teldrassil, the World Tree and home of the Night Elves. He’s tired of fighting almost and he is ready to earn his Warrior’s Death and be with his son in the afterlife, but then the Battle of Lordearon starts. About the practical outfit thing, I do agree mostly but I think I should point out the night elves in particular here. Night elves are always skimpily dressed, I’m sure if it’s a part of their culture or anything, but when you see kal’dorei rangers of even their sentinels they’re always dressed skimpily. I think it’s because their clothes are leightweight and easy to move in, and they probably value agility and flexibility in their Armor. In the next cinematic, yes Anduin (blondie) won but a lot of soldiers died to secure their victory. The Alliance are facing a shortage of warriors but he knows that even if he doesn’t agree with it (as he tells Wolf Man, Aka Genn Greymane, king of the Worgen) he knows he has to keep fighting to stop eyebrows (Aka Sylvanas). When he’s talking with Varok, it’s because the Alliance captured him at the Battle of Lordearon after he refused to kill Anduin despite him having the chance. His Horde, as he puts it, strove for Honor above all else, and Sylvanas is ruining his Horde with meaningless War. The orc Saurfang is talking to is called Thrall, he used to be a Warchief of the Horde before passing it onto Garrosh Hellscream, another orc, and leaving the Horde. Saurfang found him my following the Rogues that Sylvanas sent to kill Thrall as she knows that if he was called back onto Saurfang’s side he could be really problematic for them. He does actually end up somewhat ‘leading’ the Horde since he’s on the Council what now leads the Horde in place of the Warchief, as there is no place for a Warchief in a time of peace.

When Saurfang was going towards Allience camp all by himself - He was going to commit some sort of suicide. He wanted to kill himself in a fight and he made himself a special orcish marks with ashe. Those marks basically mean that Orc is ready to die..Like "Suicidal Marks" But then this Troll dude motivates him to "Live another day" Also when Anduin asked Saurfang why didn't he killed him when he had the chance...There's a real reason for that. A decade before that conversation, humans of Allience wanted to take his son's body with them. But Anduin's father didn't let them do that. He basically spared Saurfang's son and let him say his last goodbye, cause he thought that this is what a honorable person must do (6:04) As I mansioned before - Honor means everything for a true orc...And after so many years he still remembers who gave him a chance to honor the death of his son.He still does, that's why he spared Varian's son's life The Orc from the last Cinematic is Trall. I've told you about him before. An Honorable orc,the only one with blue eyes, who formed a new Horde and was raised by Humans

@@HannaHsOverInvested yea I guess I did not make it clearly enough. So long story short, "battle for azeroth trailer" is the video that first came out, and the most popular. The first video you watched here was "Old Soldier", and then chronologically comes the trailer. You first saw the trailer, and then the old soldier one, like most people who reacted to these videos. Most people see battle for azeroth trailer in a video, then they release a video with old soldier, then one with the guy in the prison, and so on, not really understanding them much. However, you went and watched old soldier and the trailer in a bulk, which is good, since you can actually get the full picture. That's what I liked, that unlike other people who also do not know warcraft lore, you showed us you understood the story and did not skip on a video just because you saw it once. PS. Not super sure about the video you want to watch next, it has the full story but it's also kinda filler-y. I checked it out now and there is a lot of cutscenes which are not super important or are just hyping up an event upcoming in the game, which is not super relevant. Maybe you could ask someone to do a playlist of videos for you, I one would do it no problem. It's your call, ofcourse.

I've always loved Anduin, because he tries to seek peace. That doesn't make him weak, he will still fight if needed as you saw. He is young, like barely 20, and even though he was crown prince he was more inclined towards the Light (what they worship) and being a priest. His preference for diplomacy and finding peace made him butt heads with his stubborn warrior father, King Varian. But they finally reach a understanding of sorts, just before Varian dies. Thats the Legion cinematic you see him writing to his son that he finally understands the need for peace. Anduin now forced to become High King of the Alliance at such a young age is also forced to face the fact that peace sometimes needs to be fought for. He tries to become more of a warrior like his father, essentially becoming a paladin (armor wearing warrior of the Light). But in the BfA cinematic he drops the sword, the his father's warrior side, and reaches out to the Light as who he is really meant to be, a priest. And he is extremely powerful/blessed in the Light. The draenei (the big blue tentacle face guys) leader/prophet Velen is also a priest and very powerful, and had taken Anduin in as a student/prodigy. Velen discovered the Naaru (beings of pure Light) when his people were in crisis and the Naaru blessed his people to be naturally attuned with the Light. They are an essentially immortal race and Velen is one of the oldest, over 10,000 years at least. So you can see how he would be a very important and powerful Light wielder, as well as other Draenei. Anduin being as powerful or nearly by 14 is significant. Velen has a lot of faith in him and is determined to help him achieve his destiny.

There are no bad guys as far as Horde vs Alliance goes but there are individual villains like the dragon you saw in that one cinematic getting plates hammered in. "battle for Azeroth is an expansion to World of Warcraft which is the game. Saurfang is a very old orc and has seem much horror as well as has committed such in the name of war and lost his only son to war as well. He's tired. He puts honor above all else, that's why he yells at eyebrow elf lady when she killed all the night elves by burning their home (that big tree you saw burning) he was ready to commit suicide by walking into that army alone and go down fighting.

The first "Battle" that you saw was the Siege of Lordaeron. The Horde was defending against the Alliance (the human king guy, Anduin) This story is set in the "Fourth War" between the Alliance and Horde. As you have heard there are ususally no "bad" guys in Horde and Alliance. But this time the Horde were the aggressors in the war by attacking the Night Elves. (they are part of the Alliance) Sylvanas after they defeated the Night Elves ordered to burn down their capital, Darnassus. (You saw a glimps of it at the beginning when Saurfang yelled "There is no honor in this!".) They had no reason to burn down because they had arleady won, but Sylvanas out of complicated hatred decided to burn it. And keep in mind there were still thousands of CIVILIANS in the city and most of them burned too. The Alliance seeing that genocide, they obviously decided to retaliate and launched their own millitary campaign against a Horde city called Lordaeron, which formerly belonged to the Alliance. So you could say the Alliance are the good guys in this instance as they were not the aggressors. You can see the internal conflict within Saurfang as he almost completetly lost faith in the Horde after that genocide. Honor means everything to him and to most Orcs in the Horde. As he said "There will be no Honor in this" becuase he knows he is not fighting an honorable war and the Alliance is in the right here so he is not feeling too keen to defend the Horde after all of that. Near the end of the first cinematic he tried to have he's honorable death by just charging in the Alliance camp basically as a soicide mission. But Zekhan (the other guy with him) convinced him to stay and fight. The Battle kinda ended in an Alliance victory. The Horde was pushed out but the city was destroyed in the process. (You can see how the battle went and ended by watching the Siege of Lordaeron in-game cinematics, they are up on youtube. During the battle Saurfang was captured by the Alliance hence why he was imprisoned when you next saw him. And btw i think the next WoW video you chose to wacth is perfect it has all the important thinngs so i think it's fine :) After that probably all the Battle for Azeroth in-game cienamtics (it contains the battle cinematic i mentioned) They are pretty good to get the basic idea of the lore, it's still very complicated but they are good for basic context. And some of them are really good like better then thhese CGI trailers :D

Okay, so let's hit the Cliff notes version to understand what we're all seeing in each cinematic you've done so far. World of Warcraft: The original game, built off the world established by the Warcraft 1, 2, and 3 strategy games. For many years, two factions, the Alliance and the Horde, have battled one another for supremacy, and players may play on either side. Their last war ended with the two factions joining forces to save the world from total annihilation by demons, but their tenuous peace is now breaking down, and the Alliance and Horde are close to war again. Each faction has gone through several versions of itself at this point, with the current incarnations being: The Alliance: - Humans - Dwarves - Gnomes - Night Elves The Horde: - Orcs - Trolls - Tauren (Minotaurs) - The Undead Burning Crusade: WoW's first expansion. The Horde and Alliance spread their conflict to Outland, the dying remains of the orcs' original homeworld of Draenor. A traitorous night elf called Illidan the Betrayer conquered Outland previously, after becoming half-demon in pursuit of power. New races joined the Horde and Alliance: blood elves joined the Horde, while draenei (good demons) joined the Alliance. These first two cinematics focused more on establishing the world itself than on the game's story, but that would change with... Wrath of the Lich King: WoW's second expansion. Arthas Menethil was once the prince of the human kingdom of Lordaeron. His kingdom came under attack by an undead army called the Scourge, which ravaged the land and raised all it killed as the undead. Arthas fought against the Scourge, turning down a dark path as he became more and more desperate, and his desire to save his people turned into a quest for revenge. Arthas traveled to Northrend, where he took up the cursed sword Frostmourne, and lost his soul to the Scourge's true master, the Lich King. He returned to Lordaeron, murdered his father, and conquered the kingdom in the Lich King's name. Sometime later, the Lich King's power began to fade, and he came under assault by Illidan. Arthas returned to Northrend, defeated Illidan (prompting him to flee to Outland), and donned the Lich King's crown, becoming the new Lich King. The cinematic picks up years later as Arthas has finally mastered all of the Lich King's power, and sets about raising a new Scourge army to conquer the world. Cataclysm: WoW's third expansion. When the world of Azeroth was created by the Titans, they empowered five dragons as its protectors. Neltharion the Earthwarder was the head of the Black Dragonflight, given the duty of protecting the deep places of the earth, but was corrupted by the Old Gods that dwelt within. Taking the name Deathwing, he tried to destroy the world, but was defeated and spent years recovering and rebuilding his power. When he finally reemerged, he caused a world-wide disaster that reshaped the face of Azeroth. As an aside, these events drove the goblins to join the Horde, and the worgen (werewolves) to join the Alliance. Also fun fact, as you wondered how anyone could defeat him, throughout Cataclysm's run Deathwing would fly around the world, randomly destroying zones by reigning down fire. If you happened to be in a zone when he attacked, you were basically guaranteed to die. Mists of Pandaria: The fourth expansion. The lost continent of Pandaria has been rediscovered, and the war between the Horde and Alliance promptly spills onto it. While some pandaren join the Horde or the Alliance, most view their conflict as a self-destructive, self-perpetuating cycle of hate, and refuse to take a side. Warlords of Draenor: The fifth expansion. Garrosh Hellscream, the Warchief (supreme leader) of the Horde since Cataclysm, had so brutally divided the Horde that part of it revolted against him and worked with the Alliance to overthrow him. Defeated, Garrosh traveled back in time to before the orcs had ever set foot on Azeroth, and altered the events of history. In the original timeline, the orcs had been persuaded to give themselves to the demonic Burning Legion by the warlock Gul'dan, sealing their pact by drinking the blood of the pit lord, Mannoroth. Garrosh changed this timeline's course of history by informing his father, Grom Hellscream, of Gul'dan treachery. Together they conspired to slay Mannoroth, imprison Gul'dan, and conquer Azeroth for themselves rather than for the Legion. Legion: The sixth expansion. Gul'dan escaped from the alternate version of Draenor's past and traveled to Azeroth in the present, where he set about doing his masters' bidding by summoning the Burning Legion to Azeroth. The Horde, led by the undead elf Sylvanas Windrunner, and the Alliance, led by King Varian Wrynn, join together to try and push back the Legion's invasion. Battle for Azeroth (Background): The seventh expansion. The Horde and Alliance's attempt to push back the Legion's initial invasion failed, and both Varian Wrynn and the Horde's Warchief, a troll named Vol'jin, died in the battle. Varian's son, Anduin Wrynn, and Sylvanas succeeded them as the respective leaders of the Alliance and Horde, and while the Legion was ultimately defeated, fighting between the two factions only escalated. BfA: Old Soldier: Full on war between the Horde and Alliance was reignited when Sylvanas burned down the World Tree Teldrassil, the home of the night elves. In retaliation, the Alliance is laying siege to the undead capitol of Undercity, in the remains of Lordaeron. The orc we follow is High Overlord Varok Saurfang, one of the orcs' oldest and most honored heroes, whose son, Draenosh, died years ago in the war against the Lich King. BfA: Battle for Azeroth Cinematic Trailer: The siege of Lordaeron begins in earnest. Sylvanas and Saurfang lead the Horde's forces while King Anduin Wrynn is joined by the worgen king, Genn Greymane. Sylvanas displays the dark powers she commands as a banshee, while Anduin wields his power as a priest of the Holy Light. BfA: Lost Honor: The Battle of the Undercity ended indecisively, with the Alliance driving the Horde out, but left unable to occupy it after Sylvanas deployed a biological weapon called the Plague of Undeath. Saurfang was captured during the battle, and the war has only continued to drag on since, claiming vast casualties on both sides. BfA: Safe Haven: Set free by Anduin, Saurfang seeks out an orc named Thrall on Outland. Thrall was the current Horde's original Warchief, who sought peace between the Horde and the Alliance, but was never able to attain it. He has never fully forgiven himself for appointing Garrosh his successor when he stepped down as Warchief in Cataclysm to focus on his responsibilities as a shaman (a spiritual leader with ties to the elements). Theoretically, the idea behind the Horde and Alliance is that neither side is wholly good or evil, and it's up to the individual to decide which side is in the right. In practice, this has become increasingly hard to buy, as the Horde has now gone through its second storyline about having to overthrow an unapologetically evil leader, while the Alliance's darker moments never really amount to anything. This is made only worse by the fact that every expansion features a neutral threat to the entire world that both the Horde and Alliance must work together to defeat, only to immediately go back to fighting each other as soon as it's dealt with. A lot of players, myself included, are sick to death of the war between the Horde and Alliance and wish the writers would let it die already.

To oversimplify, Warcraft is a series or games by Blizzard going back decades. From the original game "Orcs vs. Humans" in the mid-'90's up to current day. It is a lot to digest in a short period time. Don't worry if it seems confusing, because it is. The games explain and explore the lore, but not completely.

Regarding the ”No bad guys” concept being wrong. It’s actually not really. They’ve been pretty good at writing most factions and characters with logical motives. The Legion, who have really been the Big Bad for the entirety of “Warcraft”, were created by one entity who has a decent reason for doing so. He’s a pretty malicious entity but he has his reasons. The most polar opposite extremist ends of the power spectrum that we know of in this universe, are the light and the void. In between them lies chaos, order, death, life and more.

In Orc culture, dying in battle is the greatest honor. (Very similar to vikings wanting to die in battle so they can go to Valhalla) Varok Saurfang has major survivor guilt because he has been through several world/cross world wars and lived through all his battles. It is rare for orc warriors to live a long life and he's an old man at this point in the story. He often compares himself to his brother who died literally in battle with the closest being to a God in this universe, the fallen titan Sargeras. Varok's brother Broxigar held the line in front of a portal to Sargeras' world long enough for it to close before the Titan could pass onto our world and destroy it. All he could do is leave a tiny scratch on Sargeras but it was still the only account in which a mortal has ever wounded a being of such magnitude.

The many wars, deaths and conflicts the Horde and Alliance had. They can’t just be friends, they talked before many times they ‘betrayed’ each other many times as well. A lot of shit happened and it’s not easy to seek peace. For example the Horde ‘betrayed’ the alliance which got their king killed (the current king’s dad) but in fact the horde were just saving their own warchief. The Horde and Alliance worked together many times especially during times when they needed each other to defeat a greater threat who normally want to take over the world (or all the worlds but at least Azeroth)

should probably rectify something; there ARE bad guys in that specific trailer. Specifically there's one bad guy in it, and that's Sylvanas, AKA, as you lovingly refer to her, "Eyebrows". She was the leader of the entire Horde at that point, and she's very very bad. She burned down the home of the Night Elves and basically attempted genocide on them before this battle happened; SO, "talking it out" REALLY wasn't much of an option at this point, lol. It was all-out war, and the Alliance side was very justified for fighting it.

If you play in Alliance (humans, dwarfs, elves, gnomes, worgens, etc.) the Horde is your enemy. There is no good or bad side. Gonna try to avoid a wall of text. Many of the races in game have accent and/or cultures inspired by real world cultures. The Trolls (Zappy Boy) are inspired generally by Jamaicans and Haitians, in game they also practice voodoo and worship Loa. Dwarves have a Scottish accent. Tauren (Minotaur, Cow people) have a culture based generally on Native Americans. Some groups are more specific. Worgen (Werewolves) have a Cockney British accent and Goblins who speak like 1930s New York gangsters with a bit of Jersey Shore.

If you're looking for a stockpile of lore to catch you up to what's happening in this Battle for Azeroth expansion, then you ought to get yourself some popcorn and settle in for a bit of comprehensive cinematic exposition from the chapter before Battle for Azeroth, its predecessor, Legion . Bear in mind, there are three forms of cinematics. Those high-def trailers, in-game cinematics, and in-engine animations (that lack real lip-syncing, but still deliver story). That said, there are two options for Legion, one being about 1:40:00 runtime, utilizing all three forms to bring you up to speed, and another running about an hour with less of the in-engine animations. (1:40:00 version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXO3hoysqNSkmJI) (1:00:00 version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGGpqn6il8Splbs) These are both fairly long, so it's up to you if you want to take some time to watch either of them, but they're nicely arranged in chronological order. And if you decide to watch them AND you want to do a reaction, nobody is going to complain about the long run-time. And if you want to, you can always break it up into parts. I find that the inclusion of the in-game cinematics helps fill a lot of gaps that are left between the high-def trailer videos. Cool as they are, they leave you asking "so how did Saurfang get captured at Lordaeron? Was there anything worth noting that happened outside of the cinematic?" The answer to the latter question is, yes, absolutely! And to the former? Here's one more compilation video for Battle for Azeroth, (after Legion). This one is about 1:46:00 runtime, again arranged like a cohesive movie, with storylines intertwined in a way that makes sense. (BfA Compilation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZS5iqZ7Zt6teKs) So that's 2 1/2, maybe 3 hours of video content, all completely optional, but presented very nicely in my opinion.

I think if you did "/flirt" the male character would say something like "Jah maicen mi crazy". The characters also had some voodoo related jokes and the blood elves (snobby folk) comment on Troll spa. (Yeh like'd i'd like to have a bone through my nose!" or something alone those lines. Lorewise the Trolls are from different islands. so some jokes reference to Haitians, Jamaicans or more general the caribbean. Ona side note... The races in the game display various human backgrounds. Sylvanas burned Teldrassil down (capital of the Night Elves) in a war with the Night Elves/Alliance (part of the Alliance), but the ones in the tree were only the ‘innocents’ who were evacuating in the tree/living there. But she burned the tree down and basically genocide the Night Elves although a quite few (important) of them survived. The Alliance is now of course fighting back again and they are coming for Lordaeron (once the Alliance city for the Worgens aka werewolves). Which The Horde took over and is the capital city of the Undead which is led by Sylvanas (not just as Warchief of The Horde, because the undead are loyal to her). Just so you know I was cheering for Sylvanas when she ordered to burn it down (when I was doing the quest), I say justice for the Blood Elves 😉

The story of "boob"-plate. The funny thing about "boob"-plate is not, that the armor would re-direct eventual blows to the center of your body. If that would be all, it wouldn't be a problem at all. See, plate armor is made for the purpose of denying any successfull hit with swords and like. A historical full plate armor is almost invincible in melee combat. It is so effective actually, that shields become completely obsolete, if you are wearing armor. Weakpoints of the armor are too small to be effectively targeted in combat either. Swords, spears and other cutting weapons of war do literally nothing to armor, except scratcht the surface. Hammers become more effective, though they are not dangerous because they dent the armor, that's actually not a problem either, but simply the force of the swing alone may throw the armor wearer back. Picks, War-Picks in particular are weapons best utilized in melee against armor, though they also suffer a major flaw. Once you hit someone with it, your pick is very likely stuck in the armor, so getting ít out for a second blow is hard. And, as you are not wearing only plate armor but also more stuff including a gambeson or similar it is questionable weather a hit with a pick will actually do lethal damage at all. Suffice to say historical medieval armor is even to day extremely high quality melee protection. It isn't even half as clunky as so many people believe. As it is custom made to fit your body, maneuverability is actually still very much possible, including jumping, running and even climbing. (Wearing a full plate armor at a demo would be hella cool, police could technically only stop you by overwhelming you with numbers, gunfire or using tear gas, not that I would ever recommend to go on a demo in full plate armor.) You may be a bit slower than unarmored combatants, but to be fair, even outnumbered they shouldn't really be capable of doing any harm to you if you utilize your armor and weapon well. The Knight in armor is more or less the ultimate melee weapon of its time. Armor became obsolete though, as armor penetrating ranged weapons became easier to produce and easier to use. Or to be precise: The invention of infantry gunpowder weapons was the death of full plate armor. To go back to the problem of "boob"-plate. It's actually harmful to wear and the armor loses durability if made with included boobs. See, a chestplate is basically this: a metal plate to put over the chest. Sure, some work with layers, but every "extension" if you will will create seams which are weakpoints. And the more important problem of "boob"-plate: You cannot wear something beneath it. If you take a look at a gambeson, the common thing to wear beneath plate armor, it is a rather thick thing. And it doesn't leave any room for personal curvature to show through. Basically if you wear a gambeson, any "boob"-plate you'd wear wouldn't "show" your actual boobs but would be placed above the gambeson. It would look really, really weird. And it'd be impractical. And not wearing something beneath the armor would be dangerously problematic. I mean, you'd have the blank metal direclty on your skin or a very thin layer of clothing. If you got hit, you wouldn't be cut by the sword hitting you, thanks to the armor, but the armor would cut into your skin due to the force of the blow.

4:10 Eyebrows is sylvanas windrunner (up until this expansion I would say 'bad ass general and often iffy leader' but i guess she's a villain now?) and she just burned down Teldrassil the giant tree that the night elves lived on and murdered ... well lets just say its closer to genocide than not 9:22 Yes in a way? Battle for Azeroth (here-on BFA) is an expansion to the game World of Warcraft. That cinematic is the main trailer for that expansion. 12:54 y'know on a small scale they tried that once (in the panda expansion) and lets just say one of the former main advocates for 'lets just talk to each other' who was very reasonably pissed led a massacre (took place in patch 5.1, the former advocate for peace is one of my favorite characters Jaina Proudmoore and the reason why she is pissed is told in the novel "Tides of War" by Christie Golden)

I am a gamer, but WoW isn't my kind of game. I say this for perspective on the following... I love watching the shorts for WoW. The story it weaves is so incredible. I enjoy seeing the reaction you provide as someone disconnected from the culture of gaming, as well. The way you get pulled into the plot thread sort of vindicates my own feeling for it as well. I mean, if someone who is a complete non-gamer can get pulled in as much as you seem to, then its all the less odd that a gamer who doesn't play a certain game can feel the same. In any case, thank you for yet another fun video to watch.

A few lore tidbits for you. The Jamaican guy's name is Zekhan but the community lovingly named him Zappy boi when the Battle for Azeroth trailer was first released. He has a Jamaican accent because he's a troll from the Darkspear tribe. For the longest time, they were the only faction of trolls that joined the Horde. They originally lived on Echo Isles, a small chain of tropical islands off the coast of the continent of Kalimdor. While there are a lot of different races of sentient beings living on Azeroth, a large portion of those have either come from other planets (like the orcs) or are the product of outside influences (like the dwarves, gnomes, and even humans). There are still a good amount of races native to Azeroth and one of the most ancient ones are the trolls. The troll empire covered much of the world at one point tens of thousands of years ago. At its center was Zandalar, the heart of their empire. Due to a multitude of factors that I won't get into, the Zandalari empire fractured and many off-shoots sprouted. Some larger troll tribes had their localized empires, some just migrated and settled far away. Over the course of thousands of years of course there has been a lot of cultural drift. This is why the Darkspear trolls are very Jamaican and all about dat voodoo while the Zandalari trolls, who are a big part of Battle for Azeroth, have African "Wakanda" accents and cities of gold. Oh and they also train huge dinosaurs for combat which is neat. Also, "Wolfman" is King Genn Greyman of Gilneas. Gilneas was a small insular kingdom which was attacked by Sylvanas (Eyebrows) and the Forsaken. They used Blight (basically a bioweapon that turns you undead) to lay waste to much of the kingdom and she even killed his only son. At the same time a mysterious magical ailment was troubling the populace, turning people into worgen (werewolves). Genn and others however discovered that the feral nature of the worgen curse can be reigned in and you could maintain control. Additionally, and more importantly to them, the worgen curse would prevent you from becoming undead. So the majority of Gilneas's population has become worgen as a way to prevent giving Sylvanas more corpses to raise against them and maybe have a shot of surviving. Some succumbed to the infection from being attacked by feral worgen but most chose to transform willingly. Sadly, despite this they still lost their kingdom and were forced to flee their homeland. Initially very stubborn and prideful about begging the Alliance for help, Genn has changed his tune and is now a staunch supporter and advisor to the young High King Anduin Wrynn. In the last cinematic, you have Saurfang going to Outland to recruit Thrall. Outland is what is left of the orc homeworld of Draenor. Basically a few decades ago a bunch of shit happened and at the end, a large number of portals to other worlds were opened. Those were unstable and they pretty much pulled the world in a bunch of directions and destroyed the planet. The only chunk of landmass that survives now drifts in the Twisting Nether. Not quite space, more like the astral plane between realities. Because obviously it wouldn't work in space with gravity and atomosphere and all. In Outland there is only one place which is remotely habitable and that's Nagrand, where Thrall has made his home. Still though, you can see floating islands and such and the land can only support so many people. It's a dying place. Thrall is a major Warcraft character. He basically reformed the Horde from scratch after the orcs were used by the demons to be their frontline grunts in weakening Azeroth's defenses. After drinking demon blood and getting the bloodlust, they went through a withdraw that lasted years. They were basically nearly non responsive, uncaring. Thrall helped them rediscover their shamanistic ways, he recruited the trolls and tauren (cow people) and even accepted the undead. He led the Horde as warchief for a number of years before stepping down. He was written to be a bit overpowered though. It's not without reason that the community calls him Green Jesus. In the Deathwing/Cataclysm video you asked how do you beat a metal clad dragon. You don't. You let Green Jesus blast him with a deux ex machina laser beam.

Saurfang is kinda a old foggie for an Orc, so yea he's a bit rough around the edges. Here's a quick run down of what he's endured in an 80 some odd year life. Being a child slave to Ogres, rebelling, fighting the subsequent 20 year war against the Ogres, Then fighting in the subsequent tribal wars between the Orc clans, Unifying the Orcs under a single banner, being then corrupted by demonic blood, waging another 30 year campaign on a different planet, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wars in fact, as a possessed warrior slave, rebelling and freeing himself from demonic corruption. To then lead the war against giant corrupted old god monsters(bugs). Then returning to his home world and fighting a legion of demons and purging the demonic forces from it, re-unifying the Orc clans from both worlds.Only to then fight a million strong undead army of the Scourge, led by the Lich king. Then fighting the unstable elementals of Death wing, Fight more old god bugs, fight some more elemental baddies. Watching the Orcs fracture a third time, then fighting to reunify them again, to then turn around and face yet anther Orc invasion, to then again fight the demons in masse and survive, all while watching his mate, two sons and his two brother die or disappear. So now your all caught up on why he can be a bit prickly. I even maybe missed some stuff. Honestly, he get's a pass. He can be an ass hole all he wants.

Saurfang (the big ol orc) basically was ready to die in battle, since he no longer had anything to live for. His brother died in battle, his son died in battle, but he lived on. Then the Horde which basically is the last "family" he has did stuff he saw as dishonorable, so he walked out ready to die. The young caribbean troll dude convinced him that there is still hope for a better future. A pretty subtle story telling with a fair amount of reading in between the lines for Blizzard. I was really impressed when I saw it. Love how you saw Miles Morales and immediately clicked. Same girl

The problem with games like WOW is that there are so many important pieces of lore that people forget some of them. The beginning of all the problems of azeroth comes with the elves that were enslaving and mindlessly slaughtering the trolls simply because they were inferior (the elves are evolved trolls and handle magic much better, easily bounding with spirits of azeroth and forming societies, which is why they easily overpowered the dumb trolls that were almost living like savages beasts aka Forest Trolls which are like prehistorical humans). After the elves almost destroyed azeroth's lands by unexpectedly inviting demons on Azeroth, leaving it shattered into multiple continents. The elf kingdom is ruined (the elves separate in two species) thousands of years passes by and other "prehistorical humanoid species" evolve and populate the land left (lets just say that, the lore is much more complex, but "prehistorical humanoid species" fits great to describe things without details) In the meantime, on Draenor, the orcs and their stupid civilisation decided that they deserved more territories and should start war with the draenei that never asked anything but peace on the land they owned for thousands of years. Both of thoses civilisations (Orcs and Elves) were pushed even more into their stupid acts by demons from the Burning legion that want to manipulate different species to forfeit their planet to the Titan leading the legion. But let's not forget that none of it was started by the legion, the orcs AND the elves are both literally bad by definition, they were not manipulated at first and just said "lets fuck other species because we are stronger". Once the orcs had ravaged their lands, they were invited onto azeroth to destroy more stuff by a corrupted human archmage Medivh, that WAS controled by the Titan of the legion. That where every species end up on azeroth and the World of Warcraft really starts with the First War. So yeah, None of the big groups, the alliance or the horde, are great if we search at the beginning. Elves are racists, orcs are angry. But also : humans are corruptible, trolls are dumb, the scourge is stinky... Everyone hate someone else for no proper reasons and that's how everything start to blow into huge wars. After all thoses years and the huge amount of lore that we've seen on WOW, people forgot that when the Elves destroyed the one past continent on Azeroth, they woke up our most powerful Enemy, The Void Lords and their slaves, the Old Gods. Thoses beings, even if emprisoned by the creators of our planet, mind control and slowly corrupt the species living on Azeroth. All thoses wars after the two primary ones (elves and orcs) were not just because species are dumb and want to fight everyone else. The Old Gods were playing with the minds of species and were corrupting them. We've seen on Mist Of Pandaria that species, once free of the mind control, can act together, can fight to save everyone, whatever the specie of the victim is. The land of Mist of Pandaria is the only one saved from the corruption (the lore is complex and details aren't needed here, let's just say that the one old god that owned this part of the initial big continent is dead, and therefore the land isn't corrupted by the Old Gods). But in less than two years, after species got back to their initial lands, they immediatly started fighting each others again, and for stupid reasons, even though they were ALL okay for being calm and working together to stop the real menace, the Legion that is trying to invade Azeroth from another dimension and The Old Gods minions that comes from inside Azeroth. It's obvious, and pretty much explicitely said (since at the end of almost every expansion, or in the middle of it, we fight the Old Gods minions or Demons) that every wars after the First great ones were started because of the Legion Demons or The Void Lords. Thoses being corrupt minds, and can corrupt Godly beings like Titans that creates planets, so yeah, little Orcs and Humans are easy to manipulate. Those wars are not started because species want to, they are always manipulated into doing so. THERE WILL NEVER BE PEACE ON AZEROTH, Because that planet is a living being and that Godly forces wants to kill/absorb/ruin this planet. Be it Demons, crazy Titans, Void Lords, or simply strong beings that think other species are inferior but are strong enough to necessitate a whole country of Heroes to fight against them (archmages like Kel'thuzad or Gul'dan that would gladly kill everyone to absorb a bit of power, Xavius or Lei Shen that wants to test the limits of their power to improve them and surpass wild gods or titans). Someone will start the embers of war, the worse are those strong beings from Azeroth, because the whole specie which the Villain is from is blamed for not stopping his actions before he starts killing everyone, and that's when the manipulation takes place and everyone's bad feelings are emplified by the Old Gods power. People too often forget this VERY important detail, every bad emotions is emplified on Azeroth, except on some lands. That's why there have been so many useless wars. Godly beings are making species fights.

With everyone telling you what to watch next, i'll be a bit difrent and tell ask you to read stuff since i know you do that aswell! There's a ton of books for the warcraft universe (and they are all really good, many of them are written by new york times best sellers) but they tend to be a bit more focused on 1 character or focused point in the lore. I'd recommend "world of warcraft: chronicle" Its a 3 part book series with a ton of pictures so not a very long read, but it gives a very good look into the lore of the known universe. Its told by in the eyes of someone who is watching everything unfold from the outside so it gives very little bias to any one/race/thing. If you ever want to understand more about the warcraft universe they are an excellent summary of everything thats been going on in the story up to about these battle for azeroth cinematics. (These books were made so people could more easily get to know everything thats going on since it can be a bit confusing just jumping into the game/trailers) Sorry for the long read but Im very invested in this stuff and always hope more people get as excited about this nerdy stuff as I do :)
