You would think with all the technology in 2024 companies would invent a way to make work more efficient so employees could have more creative time.

I've read quite a few people online say that a lot of the work culture in Japan is less about productivity and more about looking productive. I've no idea how true this is, but it would seem a likely answer to your comment (which i completely agree with).

Its not so much working , in reality in japan its not about productivity as much as looking productive , i mean i once worked there for a year and most of the time they are just wasting time and not progressing at all in work , while in france i work at max 35h a week and do as much as what they did in japan , don't forget that in japan its all about looks , they care about looks more then the real thing , thats why they have too much dumb rules in working

G'day from NSW, Australia. I can't imagine just leaving work. Not unless there's a family emergency or feeling very ill. Our shift is rostered and you'll be making it very difficult for your co-workers. If you're the boss you can go, saying you're going and give some reason why. He just got up and said he was leaving after an hour.😄 It took me a second to realise he wasn't the Boss.😃

I don't think I can stand living in Japan. where I work: 8 o'clock entry rule (all employees will arrive at 8.30-10.00, including the boss. The rule is just a formality). the work is finished before it's time to go home, so what are you waiting for until it's time to go home? (My boss always says to put family first, when his work is finished at 2 pm he will go home, pick up his child. If it's not finished he will pick up his child and take him to the office ). take a break when you're tired, there isn't even a fixed break time, the important thing is to get the work done on time (we even had time to watch a cinema after the monthly audit was finished). If the work isn't finished today, take it home and do it at home, or you can do it in the office (no overtime pay). If there is a need for the family, permission is allowed, such as when taking the child's report card, everyone is given permission without a deduction from salary, when accompanying the family to the hospital, permission is also given, when accompanying the child to a competition, permission is given. the company I work for, my boss said, is just a cover for her husband's company so that it doesn't get hit by high taxes, so relax, all employees are women (there are no men because the boss's husband is jealous)

These videos are so weird because no one comes into our offices and ask if we're tired. Yes, we have individual offices. No one seems to notice our comings or going. People take far more than their official off-days to run errands or go for medical check-ups. We have approximately 110 days off with national holidays and weekends. I am not a newbie. Been at this white-collar job for 26 years. Obviously, the Japanese don't want people to know about the caste system. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't tell people either. Cutting this crap out of my recommendations.
