For starters, I want to appreciate your energy! BTS is definitely a daunting topic to dive into and ARMY (fandom) can be a bit intense and overbering but you chose a great starting place! I like to imagine that Dynamite is a soft enterence into the vast world of BTS. Their genres can range all over the place! From pop, rap, latin pop, etc. BTS works hard and loves their fandom very much! 💜💜 They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. FYI, most hardcore ARMY (BTS fan base) will agree that Dynamite is not a “typical” BTS song. Their 3 entirely English songs are pretty light pop that began to cheer people up during the pandemic. Most of their songs are predominantly Korean, so if you continue this journey, always turn on CC and really check out the lyrics. They talk about a lot of deep issues in many of their songs. It’s useful to know that they started out 10 years ago as a hip hop group and the rappers have huge roles as lyricists and producers in most songs (300+ discography). Hope you enjoy the journey. As much as I love Dynamite, I do believe this should not be the introduction for them. Especially if the person reacting is not interested in further exploring their music. Coz for a non-kpop fan, this song might be a huge turn-off coz of how generic it is. But on the other hand, if the person reacting is open minded and is interested for more, then I agree that this is a good start up and slowly show them their diverse music. I'm saying this from experience btw. Just a personal opinion.

I reccomend watching a live performance in their concerts, these guys are absolutely incredible live. Btw BTS usually sings in korean and also japanese, their English songs like dynamite can be counted in one hand only, but they are some of their biggest hits internationally, tho their korean and japanese tracks are often more preferred from the fandom, since the members themselves are more involved in its creative process since they speak more korean and japanese than English. Only one member out of 7 is fluent in English (the blue haired man), the rest are just learning and improving as years go. I'm honestly proud of their development, a few years ago i wouldn't think their English would be good enough to sing an entire English song by themselves, but now they did it and they sound like they are 100% fluent while singing.

This was so unexpected.... I've been ARMY (name of the BTS fandom) since 2021 and I've also been watching your guys' harry potter reactions so this caught me really off guard. Thank you so much for your reaction. They are from South Korea and there are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They are very versatile with the genres that they do and that's what attracted me to them at first (aside from the good looks). It's a really deep rabbit hole and if you need help navigating i'm sure ARMY will help you out. I hope you do more reactions. I would recommend Black Swan for the next reaction though. It's completely different than this. They have three English songs- Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance. Other than this they sing in Korean and sometimes also in Japanese.

Thanks for this reaction. :) BTS is a South Korean boy band consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers. BTS members are about to join the military. After releasing a collaboration single with Coldplay, Jin, the oldest member, already enlisted about 6 months ago and is serving under Korean law. And J-Hope recently joined the military after releasing his solo album Jack In The Box and collaborating with J.Cole. Other five BTS members will also serve in the military and will be reunited in 2025. So they are briefly stopping their eight-year group works and focusing on their solo work. They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop. All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them. BTS started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves. If you're interested in BTS' other songs, I highly recommend Mic Drop's MV and the live performances. (It's one of their billion-view music video.) And then... FIRE Blood Sweat & Tears On kinetic manifesto film Black Swan Young forever Spring day Heartbeat Save me→I'm fine→Best of Me Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo) will be great. These are pretty different from Butter or permission to dance or Dynamite. (Only these three songs are fully English.) And, all of their music videos provide English subtitles. :) Their lyrics are very deep and beautiful. Or, I think it would be good to follow a story line. DNA: Joy of fateful love → Fake Love: Realizing that love was a lie → IDOL, The Truth Untold, Epiphany, Answer Love Myself: To love other people completely, you should love yourself first. These are included in Love Yourself Trilogy. The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative. Yes all 7 members are from South Korea. 2 members of BTS(Jin and J-Hope) are currently enlisted in the Korean military for 18 months. If you aren't aware military service is mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea and the other members of BTS are expected to enlist throughout 2023. They plan to return as a full group in 2025 after their service is completed, but until then they are releasing their solo albums and working on different projects as soloists and boy have we been busy. And they are actually releasing a new song on June 9th called Take Two in celebration of their 10th anniversary since they debuted and it will have all 7 members on it because they recorded before Jin and J-Hope enlisted.

New subscriber here, just because you reacted to BTS! Yes, more BTS please! I’m a 53 year old ARMY, and I first listened to BTS around March 2022. I discovered them after becoming addicted to watching K-Dramas, and finding them on my feed as a result of that. Dynamite is a good song to start with, but just know it is not typical of BTS songs because it was written by a couple British songwriters rather than by themselves or in-house writers. Most of their songs are in Korean, but they also have some Japanese versions of some of their songs, and quite a few of their songs have two or more languages in them. They cover many different genres, and have deep lyrics, having a hand in writing a lot of their lyrics themselves. The talent of this group astounds me so much that I now am a fan for life! BTS with ARMY is a force for good in this world, so I hope you are ready to jump into the best rabbit hole ever! Glad you enjoyed it! As other have mentioned, Dynamite was a bit of a step out from their usual work. They only have 3 songs in full English, all put out during the pandemic to reach a larger audience to help boost our moods during that time. All 7 dance, sing, write, and produce...each one is incredibly talented. I'd suggest also watching Fake Love, ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film, Mic Drop, and Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Then, there are great songs just by the rap and vocal lines. 10+ years of work; their discography is vast! Thanks for the reaction; hope to see more!

Easiest to think in these terms. K-Pop is an industry . It covers most genres and includes soloists and groups and is a term used mostly in the west to indicate that the artist is from Korea and has music that is popular. In Korea they don't really use the term K-Pop cause they call therm Idols (or Idol groups). It is not common for Idol groups to write their own music or be so involved in their art. BTS has broken thru the barriers that come with being called "KPop Idols" and have become "Global Idols" instead. That said they are extremely proud towards their country of birth so being referred to as KPop stars does not bother them.. You will find that many ARMY do not follow KPop, they are just fans of BTS If you want a suggestion for a female group i would highly recommend Mamamoo and their songs Aya and Egoistic .... they are 🔥 ... they are a 4 member vocal and visual powerhouse who also write their own songs.

I would also say through BTS influence it is making other groups/company’s have their artist participate more in the writing/producing process. (It still isn’t super common but definitely is coming more and more common)

Funny coz these English songs, Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to dance, despite having a lot of views, aren't even their best, not even close. Dynamite is just a song they made during the pandemic that was made in English for all the fans to help cheer everyone up. Which is why the lyrics are basic and the music is generic. The western media hyped this song so much only coz it's in English. But when Bts releases beautifully crafted songs with deep and meaningful lyrics that aren't the overly used "love song", the media won't even think about it... I need people to realize songs like this is not what made them have the biggest fanbase in the world right now. I hope you guys explore their other songs coz even their B-sides are well made. And imo, sometimes the bsides are better than the title tracks. You might find a specific genre you like coz this group has tackled a lot of genres and not just the average "pop" music like Dynamtie is.

Thank you for your reaction! This totally brought me back to my first time discovering BTS. I absolutely love Dynamite and the rest of their English bops, though as other people have probably mentioned, this actually isn't BTS's "typical" sound. In fact, they don't really have a typical sound - they literally transcend genres, in the sense that if you name a genre, I can name a BTS song to match (except probably country)! They're so so impressive, and despite the fact that their musical talent is beyond genius (every member is heavily involved in their music through writing, composing, and producing!), the real reason we love them is because of their message and their personalities. They write about discrimination, economic inequality, generational pressure, and self-love, and they've healed millions of people through their music, words, and actions. They're also just incredibly wonderful people in real life - you won't find a goofier, kinder group. this is crazy cause i’ve been watching your channel for a while (ever since you dropped the puss and boots reaction) and i’m a huuuge BTS fan. i never thought i’d see you guys reacting to them! i’m usually skeptical when people react to BTS these days cause so many people have been doing it only for the clout (and lowkey being disrespectful to the guys, usually because of the difference in culture). that being said, it’s sooo nice to see you reacting to them and not changing my opinion on you guys 😭 i was honestly so scared of being disappointed because i love your channel (watching reactions to my favorite movies brings me a lot of comfort and you guys are really fun to watch!) so i’m really happy you’re not like many others i’ve encountered these past couple years. i had a lot of fun watching you discovering this song, and i think you’ll love getting to know these guys, they have a huge (and very diverse) discography. you reacted to their most popular song, which is very poppy and completely in english, which is not always the case for them (they have very few english releases), that being said this song is definitely a whole vibe. i’m glad you enjoyed it and i can’t wait to see you reacting to more of them. and let me tell you that, no matter your favorite genre of music, they probably have a song for you. they are great, very humble people and honestly all of them are talented as fuck. as someone who works with music i absolutely love the group. you’ll be very impressed if you continue this journey! thank you for reacting and making me laugh and have so much fun 💜
