The idea that a champion fighter sucks as soon as they lose their belt is a filthy casual myth. If his mental can recover he'll be at least top 15 good in his next fight. Which only sucks compared to how high he climbed already.

Brunson was good for a while but he gets tired after 1 round and he’s out of the ufc now. But he was a gate keeper in the middleweight division the past few years

gastelum is pretty underrated. i’d say watch his stuff maybe later but yeah at the time robert whittaker was the champ and i think he got injured so kelvin and izzy fought for the interim

Whittaker is a very well rounded martial artist but most known for his striking style, moves in and very fast. He moved up from 170 to 185 pounds and became a champ. I’d recommend his fights with Yoel Romero for sure

Gastelum's own technique stopped improving at a point. Not that he couldn't keep up but that he stopped evolving at all around the time after he fought Izzy.

Brunson was a good wrestler that had very heavy hands, sloppy striking technique but knocked a few people out. Robert whittaker was the champ at the time but he got injured after two wars with yoel Romero so they made an interim belt while Robert was away.

Brunson a good wrestler who is good at blitzing people on the feet, but with no real defense or variety to his strikes. When it comes to how often fights fall flat, not very often but it does happen a couple times a year. That's actually a big issue with Izzy's legacy, he has a lot of lackluster fights. For awhile, Izzy was either demolishing people or no one would throw very much. Whittaker was the real champ, but he had a severe surgery that required time off, but he one of the most well rounded champions we've ever had, most all Rob fights are great displays of everything he has, the Romero fights were absolute wars as well.
