So Zoro mentioned it ep 1 but his goal is tied to a promise he made to someone. Being a Pirate Hunter was a way to get money and continually fight to grow stronger. Being a pirate works the same way. He'll have food, a place to sleep, and access to increasingly strong fights. But he wouldn't have joined just any crew. He only warms to Luffy cause Luffy has an equally high goal. So they both understand what it means to shoo for the stars with your life on the line.

Please keep watching! The live action is an amazing intro into the series. And keep watching the anime too! To give you context, the live action basically covers the prologue of One Piece. It's basically nothing in the greater scheme of the series in terms of spoilers but also so important in setting up the series. Love your reactions, excited to see more!

You guys can watch the Live Action then the anime, or the anime then the live action, the Live Action is 8 episodes and covers the content of 45 Episodes, the anime does some stuff different the live action does some stuff different, some characters got cut out of the Live Action some scenes from the manga got cut from early in the anime, Nami is like that in the anime until Episode 40(And so on)
