Just to mention exactly how hard Shadow is: the first time he grabbed the missile he sent it back at the enemy the 2nd time he grabbed the missile after teleporting, he protected the pilot from getting hurt He ain't need to do that, but he kept the pilot safe on his own terms.

glad to have you join us who knew that all it took to make one of the most popular characters in the fandom was to give him a bunch of dramatic and badass moments and play them seriously as if he wasn't actually an anthro hedgehog? even when it's the wrong decision and makes everything goofy i find committing to the bit and being sincere in your art is almost always the better side to err on. it makes for an emotionally evocative character and people respond well to that doesn't hurt that he's also one of the only characters in the franchise who's been allowed to have a character arc even if he's more static these days

Dark Beginnings has a PS5 Bonus Scene. It's 51 seconds long and is totally worth a watch~ I remember watching this episode and bawling my eyes out TT_TT The song "Without You" really didn't help. The Lyrics, told from Shadow's perspective, are so beautifully sad: Can you hear me? Do you still hear my voice? It echoes back at me “Why did you make that choice?” You surround me And your memory is clouded By all things dark I can't feel you there You'll never leave me I swear It's just a nightmare That won't end So I pretend That I'll see you again And that I'll save you From all the things I failed to Now I'm without you I can't forgive the wrongs I've done you 'Cause now you're gone forever I remember How bright you shined on your own Yet I remain alone

If you want to learn sonic lore, i'd recommend TheMentok's "Sonic universe in under 10 minutes" video. It doesnt go fully indepth but it's a good starting ground for sonic lore. There's also a Shadow lore video by the Official Sonic Channel called "Shadow 101"
