I am a lefty, and oh boy, these ink smudges are all over my papers. You see, I'm in junior High, and we use pens everyday. I always get ink smudges, so after I finish one word, I stop for a bit so it could dry. Scissors. They are extremely hard to cut with for other people who are lefties, but for me, I don't see a problem. Just position it in your hands like a righty, no problem at all! The bigger hole goes on the bottom, and the small hole of the scissors go on top. But if you have kid-friendly scissors, sorry, I can't help you.

Marshmallow Twitch what kind of scissors do you have there? In my country all scissors and same level for the fingers and my mum is left and I’m right for scissors and we both use the same one without issues

These are just my personal recommendations... both the Pentel Energel and Zebra Sarasa offer a metal-bodied pen for those interested in a premium pen which holds the refills for both brands: the Pentel Energel Philography, Zebra Sarasa Grand and Zebra Rougel (as Kimberly mentions). Personally, the Grand and Rougel are my favorites (can't choose between the two). Would love to see Zebra add additional colors to the Grand line. Also, while I can't speak for the Sarasa Dry as I've never used this particular pen, I would recommend the Jetstream (or any oil-based ballpoint ink pen) for those who use highlighter pens when writing. There's absolutely no smearing! As for the Energel ink, I would wait, perhaps 10 to 20 seconds, before highlighting over text as smearing is more likely with gel pens. Useful video; thanks Tokyo Pen Shop!

I'm a lefty and I agree with the energel pick. But I still tend to use coletos and juices and sarasa clips more often because I love colors. It works as long as I'm careful not to go thicker than 0.5. Also, I find that the texture of the paper determines the amount of smearing. My favorite planner uses a very smooth paper, almost photo paper-like, and any pen I use on it smears (except the 0.3's of course). Thanks for doing this video. A leftie high five to you!

Excellent point about the paper! Pen behavior can't be judged without taking into account the paper!

All the leftys I know turn their paper to the portrait position and write as if from top to bottom.

Don't forget the Gelocity, they dry real fast at a good price. Twice as cheap as the Sarasa here in Mexico, but when I'm rich, then I'll afford the Sarasa gel pens. By the way, the Acroball and the Easytouch are the same pen, but they sure glide on paper.

Would recommend to zoom in closer to the notepad and ink.

Absolutely love the Energels and obsessed with the Jetstream. The 3 and the 4 and the pencil are great. I use .3 in really tight spaces. And usually switch between a .5 and .7 in my bag. But the 1. is like a happy go lucky doodley type. I’ve also tried the Dr Grip ones. My hands and wrists are sorts of messed up with pain so a thick comfy grip usually helps. I feel like a pen snob. Whenever I come across a new pen I immediately have to try it out and ask where it was found if it writes like butter and take all sorts of picture so I can compare pictures when I need to order them. Or I happen to come across that amazing miracle left handed pen I need to buy all the colors of that one pen. I hate scratchy pens. I love smooth buttery pens. I don’t hook my hand when I write and depending on how my wrists feel I may or may not turn my paper on assorted angles. I sometimes use a barrier sheet under my hand to keep my hand clean from smear if the pen is a slow drying one. 💕🤣🤷🏻♀️
