Awesome video! Thanks for uploading it. I see all the searchlight signals in the area are gone now.

The Dundas and Oakville subdivisions meet at Hamilton, a couple miles west of here. Only the Dundas and Oakville meet at Bayview.

Are CN and CPKC still running?. Despite the strike that is currently taking place?.

It’s coming back slowly now, CPKC I believe is still on strike but mgmt is running trains. CN is back but could change on Monday. The bayview area was dead on thrusday and is slow as of today minus the GO trains.

I wonder why the GO trains are so long - 12 cars. Surely such capacity is only needed on about 2 runs per weekday - 6 cars would be enough for the remainder. Seems to me that savings can be made!

Canadian businesses / government exist to waste. This is their purpose. Edit : And to be as slow as possible while doing so 2nd Edit : Quick, delete my comment

12 cars GO train - it is the same observation on the east side of Toronto. There is much to be said for shorter trains in off-peak hours, such as reduced fuel consumption, reduced wear on the equipment, improved power/weight ratio (and hence, better acceleration), etc... However, there are adverse logistic implications, as this would require a time consuming trip to the shops, given that such modifications to a consist cannot be done at the end terminals. This also would require additional equipment and crews in order to maintain the schedule. 2024/08/31. Ontario, Canada.
