The Barbara Matic match at 09.30 If you win the match but are unconscious do you still win the match or lose by default.
@judojudo3808 Жыл бұрын
Barbara is not uncousious. Shimewaza (choke) technique her opponent doesn't work and Barbara doesn't have to tap. And because she leads on wazari (look board) and match time finished Barbara won.

Can you post a combination of fierce sankakujimes in women judo?

Thought my mind was playing tricks on me when I read the title. Was expecting to see John Lennon's wife start a new career in Judo. So I take it a Sliding choke is basically a variation of what's called a Bow and Arrow choke in BJJ?
@TheGhostOperative3 жыл бұрын
I didn't realize John Lennon's wife is a judo master. If only she could sing as well as she does judo.
@supercoolredlamb3 жыл бұрын
Technically her family name is Oono (大野、a big field), and John Lennon's wife's one is ono (小野、small field). It's spelled in the same way in English, but the actual meaning is completely opposite.

In the future, European Judo-ka need to learn all shiemewaza, newaza and how to defend the shiemewaza, and they never give Eri, which is kimono - collar to the other one during shimewaza, then there is no problem.
@judojudo38083 жыл бұрын
It isn't true. You can find similar action by european judokas too. But here is nice action top japan judokas only.

Why do Japanese, not Brazilian or Russian, judokas dominate newaza in the recent world competitions? We certainly have Kosen judo, but Brazil has BJJ and Russia has Sambo. They must have world-class martial arts trainers in their own countries who can improve newaza skills of their own judokas. Is it a matter of cooperation among different martial arts?

At least Japanese female players have been at the top since the 90s. Their pinning techinques are outstanding. It's the most important thing in Judo Newaza, And it was inevitable that they would be the best at it Of course, they're also good at submissions, but the best is Osaekomi SRT is one of their flagship techniques

why does look woman judo so diff from mans judo
@porkcutlet39203 жыл бұрын
I am not familiar with Judo but it's likely easier for men to get better at Judo by simply increasing their strength and speed. Meanwhile, it's harder for women to do so without doping, so they focus on their techniques.

Great video, as usual! Speaking of okuri-eri-jime, what do you think of the choke in this fight? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKDLYZyNbdx7pKM I don't quite understand how Nikiforov is able to get enough leverage, since he has his choking arm under the opponent's armpit...Is it because the opponent is upside down?
@judojudo38083 жыл бұрын
Simply. He uses sankaku jime. This technique means ippon for him.

@@judojudo3808 Sankaku? Without locking his legs? I don't know...
@judojudo38083 жыл бұрын
@@EnergumenoInqualificavel Yes. Without fully locking his legs. But he got her opponent to very uncomfortable position (he close him space for move) and her legs plays similar role as her legs were fully locked. His legs are wandering for opponent's tap. And it is sankaku jime more than anything else.

Thanks for the clip. There is a video about this type of choke here. Personally, I've found this technique difficult to apply. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aafTgIh4lMiXq7s

@@non-stopnewaza9266 This is very interesting! Had never heard of this before. And you can actually see in the clip that Nikiforov's non-choking arm goes under the leg and then grabs the opponent's arm to help pull it across his face even more. Thank you for sharing!
