You can’t expect threads to hold up an aging face. sometimes the facelift is necessary if you really want a tauter look. don’t do the threads. It’s bad news with minimal and temporary effect.

Agreed. Maybe she didn't want to undergo surgery but even an untrained eye can see that she is better suited for a face lift. Threads can be used to tighten and build collagen if needed afterward the face lift.

Can I ask a question as an ITU nurse. So from all my research this should be treated as an a-septic procedure. First should you not have surgical gloves on ? And secondly I think I can hear you opening packets ? I assume the thread packets ? Should you not be working from a surgical field and have someone helping you if needed as you are touching the patients face after so this could cause cross contamination? You may not be doing this so I’m not saying you, and that’s why I am asking you questions about it as it is off camera ?

Some people are not good candidates for facelifts. Especially if they have hypertension and diabetes. A lot of surgeons won’t do it. They weight the risks versus the benefits.

About a year then your skin starts falling around the threads and if they’re hooked threads you get little jagged pull marks on your cheeks as it falls and the thread stays where it was put. it’s pretty bad

An 18 gauge needle is wayyy to thick and traumatizing for the face!!! Also, by freezing the face this much, the patient is unable to tell you when you have hit blood vessels/arteries in the face and need to back out and enter through a different pathway.

It's optional but otiu can always put duck tape on your face after the procedure, it helps, keep them on for at least 12h

Threads are not cheap to lift up outer corners of eyes I was quoted $1500 & from what I've been reading the lifted look pretty much goes away after 6 months. Very temporary.

Since we've been doing more threads over the last few years, in general, the consensus is that the "foxy eye" or whatever the kids call it these days, is that it only lasts a few months and the results are better in younger patients. It's an incredibly difficult area to get that kind of lift to stay without having true plastic surgery. But for an event, it could be an option.

Speaking from experience no. This is because a blunt tip cannula is used vs a needle. The blunt tip cannula is used for the purpose not damaging blood vessels and preventing bruising & tissue trauma.

@@Donna-vh5ym Yes! And 100% id say you should take the advise & do it. Filler can help you build out features you’d like to enhance & or correct volume loss. For massive volume loss fat transfer with growth factors is even better for volume loss long term & more cost effective. For actually lifting & sometimes you have good fullness in your face no amount of filler will correct the nasal fold, smile lines, or marionette lines without adding too much density to your appearance. The best way to look like yourself & have a good result is the thread lift. For marionette lines you can use twisted threads or smooth threads OR go for a more full effect and lift mid face with lifting threads anchored in the cheek area with barbed threads. Not only is the thread lifting more cost effective than filler it also creates collagen which will then improve your lift & final result with the collagen contracts and naturally tightens your skin.

Went to see plastic surgeon today for a lower facelift and she strongly advised never, never ever get those PDO threads!!!.... never heard of them but she was totally against them. I think she said something about blood clot issues, scarring and they get in the way or something....

Why not just get those tape clips that you can actually like pull back on the sides of your face and just put your hair down to cover the lil' tape strip... or cover it w/makeup? I saw the Vivienne (a drag queen - won Drag Race UK season 1) do it on the show, and I had never heard of/ seen it before… gives a better effect and it's not piercing your face! FRFR!
