What's your cut-off edition for the Norton Anthology of English Literature? I've got a set but now I'm worried it may be too recent. My copy of the Norton Anthology of Short Fiction is the one I used in College in the early 80s. Great stuff but boy did I scribble in it.

I adore my Norton anthologies! Have both the English and American ones. You're sadly right about the ideological capture of recent editions. A crying shame.

Oh, Brother, don't you weep. I was thinking, last night, as the devastating news came through that a lot of older men in America, Gen. Miley Cyrus being one, who were weeping to see the country that they loved, had worked for, had supported, had built being destroyed by a mad man and his minions.😭
