Great interview! I attempted to take my own life at 17 years old and my mother found me. I remember how much she screamed and begged me to stay with her hanggang maka rating kami sa ER. And she didnt sleep for awhile just to watch over me, and I told myself I will try harder and hold on much longer so that she doesnt have to go through that again. For my mom, I am holding on.

This is Julius’ best and most consequential interview. And I’m glad that I watched it in its entirety. I was initially put off by the label “love story” not realizing that the “love story” encompassed the entire Buencamino family, and not just Nonie and Shamaine. Having been away from the 🇵🇭 for more than a decade, I had no idea that they went through so much heartbreak. And props to them for their advocacy. Bravo!

There is so much to learn from your interviews, especially about Sharmaine and Nonies experience regarding their daughters suicide. I was and still am, suffering from depression. Somehow, I picked some pointers from your interview. I was never suicidal but sadness and loneliness come and go. I never see a psychiatrist, never took medication, but I survived. I’m now in my late 70’s, happy some days, sad the others. God is my guiding hand. He helped a lot. Thank you Julius for this interview with Nonie and Sharmaine. ♥️♥️♥️

Same situation as well po. 😪 Prayer is my weapon kapag nararamdaman ko na naman ung pagiging depressed. I've been a devotee of Lord of Pardon and Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and even to St. Pio. Kailangan lang talaga malakas yung faith mo to Him. Minsan kapag wala akong makausap nagsi sink in sa akin yung suicidal. Buti nalang takot ako masaktan physically. This interview has a lot of lesson to keep. Depression is not a joke talaga. Basta bigla nalang syang aatake. Hayy... ❤

The last and only time I’ve seen Shamaine on theatre was when I was in college, a play entitled the Lord of Jala-Jala with Pen Medina, and directed by Tony Mabesa. Naiintindihan ko lahat ng mga nararamdaman ni Julia. I had suicidal thoughts when I was 10, and attempted suicides when I was 18 and 21, self harmed by cutting myself and jumped from floors, seeing shadows in my room. I've no one to share what I went through coz I was abandoned by my parents. Only people in the church and my foster parent who've noticed my cuts and injured back & leg. Prayers does helped! Now, that I am a mother to 2 teenagers, I've been watchful and protective to them. I didn't do what my parents have done. Sometimes depression creeps in but my natural ways to cure 'em are to run to God, reconnecting myself to nature, cutting the carbs in my foods to free myself from confusion, doing intermittent fasting to heal metabolic inflammation, and workout to calm myself. Self talk. Yes, self talk is just like I'm a mother to the little inner self of me that still needs affection and attention. Not just a survivor but I thrive.

Matagal na counseling at gamutan din di ako pwedeng mag work dahil di ko kayang makakita at makipag-usap sa tao. Sa ngayon ok na ok na ako balik normal na lahat. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yung gestures nila while having the interview and the way they lean to each other say something about the psychology of human relationship. They share physical and emotional support and I think that's the reason they were able to understand and accept what happened to their daughter, Nonie's overcoming his drug dependence and saving their relationship. Thanks for this meaningful interview Mr Julius and salamat Mr and Mrs Buencamino for sharing delicate information about your precious daughter. Andami po namin natutunan regarding sa mga signs na dapat namin tignan at maging observational talaga sa mga anak . Napakasakit po ng nangyari and there’s no getting over a death of a loved one let alone your own kid. Salamat sa pag share nyo ng experience nyo, it made parents like me to be more observant and understanding. May she rest in peace. God bless!

Salamat po dito! Lost my daughter to suicide last april, kagaya po ng Anak mo poets din siya at mahilig magdrawing kaya akala nmin hilig lang talaga niya iyon. May lesson po akong natutunan sa interview na to.almost same po sila ng Anak ko kaso sobrang sakit po ung akin dahil sa last notes niya sinabi niyang narape siya.
