As an evolutionary biologist, Brace's comment gave me hope for humanity then CrazyMiles stabbed that hope in the eye with a spork. While we tend to call the limbs of quadripedal (not just mammals, but also reptiles, amphibians, and other 4-5 limbed) animals the forelimbs and hindlimbs - by structure the forelimbs are arms and the hindlimbs are legs. It's just that since we are bipedal we tend to call anything used in walking legs. The muscle and bone structure is all just a different formula for the same function. Take a horse running for instance. Their biceps and rear delts lift their forelimbs as their quads, hamstrings, and calves push. As their forelimbs come down they are using their triceps, rhomboids, and shoulders to impart force to the ground. At the same time their abductors, core, soas' and glutes are pulling the hindlimbs up and loading potential energy to start the process over again.

Yea, guy on the left isn't actually wrong. The forelegs of a dog have elbows, wrists, as well as a radius and ulna, all just like human arms and all lacking from the hindlegs of a dog. Sooo, while dogs have 4 feet, they are attached to the ends of 2 arms, and 2 legs. Dogs have arms.

@@williamjordan5554 Simply put, yes. They should all be referred to as forelimbs, as opposed to forelegs, as they all have radius, ulna, and humerus. Although, through evolution(sorry, Bible beaters lol), each species has seen the positioning/shape of them adapt to each.

Those railroad crossing ones must be a lot of panic and not a lot of thinking. If I ever get in that situation and I can't back up because of other cars. I am going through the barrier. I am not even going to question how much time I have to maneuver. I'd bet any damage to my car and the gate will be a lot less than if I get t-boned by a train trying to slow down.

Yeah there has been no recorded case of a cheetah attacking a human in the wild. But plenty of bad bites with cheetah's that have been kept in captivity. The reason they don't attack humans is simply because we are too large. A cheetah weighs in the neighbourhood of 90lbs or roughly the size of a 9-11 year old. They have very little muscle and fat because they need to stay small and slim to reach those incredible speeds. The largest male cheetah's can reach around 125-135 lbs. But even at that weight a human male can literally pick you up off the ground and throw you. But there is no doubt in my mind that a coalition of cheetah's would attack a lone child walking through the wilderness, or perhaps even an elderly person.

Seeing how kids cross the roads nowadays, I'm thinking that parenting is getting worse every new generation. My uncle who's a farmer always uses the same road to go where his cows are, and the same kids always cross without caring in front of his tractor, so he went to talk to their mom and told her to be careful, she got mad, told him to fuck off and mind his own business. Later when he went back home she was waiting for him on the road with 4 black buffed guys with guns, she told them he insulted her or something, so they beat him up for like 15min, the police came while he was still getting beat up, they did nothing. They also threatened him to burn his house. My uncle is in his 50s and he's like the sweetest man ever, he was just worried about the kids. I hate people..
@sgt.horvath70233 жыл бұрын
Why did you have to mention that the buff guys were black and mention no one elses race, the lady, ur uncle neither of their races were mention.. just convenient that "black" was emphasized when violence occurred as if they are one in the same.. I feel bad for ur uncle but c'mon mate u coulda just said 4 buff guys wit guns.
@Phals3 жыл бұрын
@@sgt.horvath7023 I'm not racist at all so to me it's just a detail, if I don't mention the race then it's either white or idk. Just saying the lady had to call dangerous dudes (black people usually know how to fight) from the hood to a village just to beat him up. I mean she could've called 1 random white dude my uncle wouldn't have fought, but she had to go all in. I see your point though, sorry if you feel attacked.

Cheetahs don't really have the ability to take down grown men. They're not that heavy or strong. Why do you think the term cheetah chaser came up? Natives used to watch a cheetah run fast and catch something that they could never catch. Then they would run up and Chase the cheetah away from the kill. Now the hunters had an animal they could have never ran down.
