I think what bothers Scottie so much about Mike is how Mike profited so much more than he did. People loved Mike and was becoming the face of the NBA. Not Mike's fault nor was it Mike's problem. Dang Pipp, you a legend too...
@GoGetYourShinebox3 жыл бұрын
Yep but I think it mainly comes down money. Scottie sees the difference between what he has and what Mike has and in his head he believes the difference is too big as he feels Mike was not that much greater than him. However Mike was just marketable, he had the IT factor that went beyond the court, and his style of play was also more exciting than Scottie's. But as a 'Robin' to 'Batman', Scottie feels he wasn't compensated enough. However a lot of this has to do with him not making sure he signed the right deals, and marrying a gold digging thot. He can't accept the bad choices he made and the recent death of his son has probably sent Pip over the edge so now he's pointing fingers at Mike, also with the incentive to try and sell his book for $$$

Without Rodman too. He doesn't have the clutch shot gene. One of the reasons he lost that series in the playoff 1994. Kawhi Leonard is a better version of Pippen. More injury prone though. I don't think anybody else plays like him on both ends. 1. LeBron is good defender only when he wants to and helps most of the times. This is one of the biggest reasons people don't see effort from him on defense. He's like IQ defending with his size which is alright. 2. Giannis is not a SF anymore so can't compare Pippen to him. 3. Paul George is alright but not a winner. You can see stars playing amazing but still lose in a series. When watching Paul George, apart from a few shots, you can see that he ain't gonna win. 4. Marion can be compared to him. He was never a superstar but had the numbers very similar to Pippen. 5. Larry was an IQ player only legend so not truly comparable to Pippen. Pippen was athletic and then IQ.

Pippens exploits in 93 vs the Knicks Pippen blocking Charles Smith. 95 Pippen leads his team in every major category. And was literally a one man show. @@wilfredjones4042 I honestly don't believe Pippens issue with the last dance was the acknowledgment of his low points. It was the lack of putting his high points on display. Or how Pippen stepped up and out played MJ vs their rival the Knicks in 93 when Jordan was playing with a bad shooting hand? How do you leave out Rodman's rebounding dominance vs the Sonics? The Knicks were in great position to get the rebound if the foul isn't called, so the knicks still could've won that game without the foul. The Bulls had almost 3 sec left and threw the ball away. To put in perspective how good Pippen & those Bulls teams were, just look at their record the first year without Jordan compared to the previous one. Considering who MJ was, you'd think losing the Greatest Player in all of human history would dramatically collapse your record, yet they only lost *TWO* more games. That's it. 1992-1993 with Jordan they won 57 games. 1993-1994 without Jordan, they won 55 games. They didn't win the Championship, but that still speaks volumes about how good Pippen & Co. were. Just imagine the Cavs after losing Lebron, or the Lakers after losing Shaq (and later Kobe). But here we're talking about losing the actual GOAT, yet they managed to win 55 games anyway. THAT is a true testament to Scottie's greatness. The team was solid all around, but having 2 x top 50 players of all time sure helps (and later, 3 x top 75 players with Rodman).

@@Ballerz24 The 1994 season was incredible for them. They played extremely well, despite Pete Myers replacing Jordan. The following year, it was a different story. Horace Grant left on the market in 1995 (because he wanted a lucrative contract offered by Orlando). Those two seasons were better than we expected back then. People believed the Bulls would had been out of the playoffs race for those two seasons. Before Jordan came back, the Bulls were ranked 6th in the East. Of course the Chicago Bulls were incredibly efficient with Jordan running the SG spot and we remembered why he was the face of the league against the Knicks (double nickle against them)! But, Chicago weren't bad at all without MJ. They were surprising on many levels. When Orlando eliminated Chicago, we saw the Bulls lacked an interior defensive presence and a solid rebounder in order to slow down the duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Horace Grant. Jordan said after the eliminate they were "one Horace Grant away from a championship." Aka a solid PF. When they signed Dennis Rodman, it was a key reason why Chicago destroyed Orlando. Scottie played the one whole year without Mike and did pretty damn well. Mike (Superstar) Scottie (Star) just that simple. But to say Scottie couldn't hold his own and wasn't a factor in the locker is just not true. People can say Kareem and Magic and not take anything away from either player. You can say Bird and McHale and not take anything away from either player. When you say Jordan and Pippen it usually goes with Jordan made Pippen the player he is. And so it's like Pippen never had the chance to really be the man on a team. Not saying he would've won championships but I believe he could've been in the likes of a Barkley or Malone. Someone who could've been a challenge to Mike and the Bulls. Now remember he was almost with Seattle! Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Scottie Pippen, Sam Perkins, Nate McMillan. I don't know if Mike would be six up. We'll say 3. But no Pip, Rodman or Grant, or players of that caliber. No rings for Mike!

Even without Jordan, the Bulls only won 2 less games than the year before with him! Scottie was also a superstar, just not the GOAT. When a team loses a superstar, they usually win significantly less games the following year. Look at the Cavs after Lebron left. Hell, even if they manage to not collapse, they tend to struggle quite dramatically (see Lakers without Shaq & Phil). Yet when the Bulls lost the GOAT, they went from winning 57 games to winning 55 games. That speaks VOLUMES about how great Scottie was, & why he was ranked in the top 75 players of all time list along with Jordan (and #32 on ESPN's version where they actually ranked them outright).
