So about the finger thing. In the beginning of the hidden blade's use, one of the first assassin's accidentally cut his finger off with it while assassinating a target (this was in Assassins Creed Origins). While they did remove the finger to allow ease of use for the blade, removing the finger also served a ceremonial purpose to demonstrate commitment to the creed. During Ezio's time, they changed the blade so it didn't require the removal of the finger, and they changed the ceremony to be a branding of the finger in order to better hide their allegiance to the creed (in the old days it was more common for people to be missing fingers).

The reason people in AC1 couldn't move like Altair was because they usually never bothered to investigate the events more than necessary to complete the assassination. If you do all those events before an assassination, Altair finds people willing to either block the guards when chasing you after you flee or you clear a whole route over the rooftops so as to be clear of any enemy presence. I remember I loved this game so much because in the end it was all worth it. The only assassination I did get caught in was the last one where you were supposed to get caught and never did I once had to fight the chasing crowd. The later games missed that "get away plan" part completely.

I really wish but at the same time don’t want to bc they will probably ruin it but I would have liked to see his story continue with Conner. And while I do think it would make for a amazing story for Conner to get his revenge I would also love to see that the present day templars only exist and have such a strong foundation in the modern day bc shay is the one to restructure them and taught his version of the Templar order to do their work in the shadows, rather than be open like others before him did

I replayed all the games up till unity and Black Flag is still my favorite game to play but I loved the story in Origins the most. Need to replay that one even though the gameplay is different.

Assassins Creed Origin definitely is my favourite version. The story and characters are more compelling in this version.

Im such a fan of Origins I got the platinum twice and 100% the game. All AC games are incredible and amazing

As a long time AC fan, I totally agree with your stance on the new games. After Black Flag we had Assassin's Creed Syndicate which did pretty poorly in sales (I blame lack luster writing). When Syndicate didn't perform as well as they wanted, they went with a totally different approach with Origins. Origins was way more open combat focused and had more in common with traditional RPGs rather than assassin's creed. Origins did fairly well, mainly due to its setting (Egypt is cool) and its premise (the beginning of the Assassins). Ubisoft took this to mean people liked the gameplay changes, so they continued that with Odyssey. Odyssey was good for people new to assassin's creed, but it was probably the least like the rest of the games so far. It was far too open combat focused, had the same RPG elements (including not being able to one shot assassinate people you snuck up on), and it did pretty poorly. Finally, Ubisoft went with Valhalla to capitalize on the Viking craze that was going on at the time. Valhalla still had the open combat and was still unlike the other AC games, but they did put a higher emphasis on the stealth and parkour we were used to in the other games. This gained it a cult following, but still wasn't enough to bring people back. Finally, we have Mirage. AC Mirage was originally supposed to be a DLC for Valhalla, but after Ubisoft saw the demand for a return to form in the fanbase, they made it a little longer and released it as its own game. Its much shorter than the other games, but it does a decent job at capturing what assassin's creed was supposed to be (aside from the stupid optional power you get that lets you teleport to like 5 enemies in a row and kill them). Overall I thought it was a step in the right direction, but it needed more resources. Hopefully with the plethora of AC games and projects coming out we will see a return to the elements that made AC so unique. There are a LOT coming (AC Codename Red, AC Codename Hexe, AC Codename Invictus, AC Infinity which is supposed to be an Animus hub liking the games together).

assassins creed unity did bad on launch bc it was released incomplete but it’s good now and the story is good it’s essentially romeo and juliet forbidden love between an assassin and a templar. templars are still the same enemy

Black Flag was def better than 3, at least in terms of ship combat. Way more options, more diverse enemy ship types, the ability to actually board disabled enemy vessels, etc. I’m biased but honestly Black Flag is my favorite of the franchise. The story, atmosphere, gameplay, it’s all very fun and the only real complaints I have with the game are the tailing missions and the modern day story

idk maybe im just not a pirate guy but I wouldn't even put black flag in my top 3 favorite AC games, im curious what makes people love it so much? why are you so drawn to it?

@@Roi55 well, it's pretty much a full-blown pirate game if you take away all the AC elements of it. You get to explore a large open world, obtain upgrades for both your character and ship, plunder and loot the many locations and ships you can find, and more. It's practically miles better than what Skull and Bones (Ubisoft's "Quadruple A" game) delivered.

Ngl dude, they had some nice characters, but it’s been hard to really connect to and like a character since Ezio’s trilogy. I loved Bayek, and stil think he deserves a sequel, and Eivor maybe. Edit: “My story is one of many thousands, the world will not stop if it ends too soon.” One of my favorite quotes of all time from this game.

I looked up Odyssey's trailer. It was moments from the game edited together. Not really a cinematic trailer though, and it was the official one from Ubisoft's page. They went cheap advertising Odyssey apparently. Most likely with how successful Origins was, and how popular a setting ancient Greece is likely felt they did not need to advertise as much.

assassin creed mirage is i think what the movie was based off of the characters are the same as the movie and trailer scenes show same locations as the movie also
