@@mr.n476 actually, that's per hour basis, which goes from 400k-700k. There are millions who play DOTA 2 daily, and tens of millions monthly, so definitely not dead. DOTA 2's playerbase has settled to 400k-700k (with rise up to 1M) concurrent players since 2020, and hasn't decayed much since. Definitely not dead. Should have dropped in hundreds of thousands after 2020, but never really happened. Edit: Valorant has the same playerbase numbers as DOTA 2 if you look it up, though those numbers are estimates based on server activity. DOTA 2's definitely not dead.

For the Dota players who been playing at least 10 years, this patch is a good one. The excitement in a new big patch is always gonna bring back old players. And those that only been only playing a couple of years will either be neutral or hate it because new and old players of Dota 2 have their own reason in playing. Real Dota players that love the game ADAPTS/ADJUST in each patch big or small.

They changed items, neutrals, heros, map and even playsytle ( killing heros is the best way to farm it seems now xD ) this was needed but map feels incomplete and bit big so modes like turbo is a mess. It actually happened to use this match lmao. Like 5 mins ago xD opponent spectre disappeared whole game, just came with ult killed pushed again disappeared. Warding has been a nightmare, towers provide 0 territory value. High ground low ground positioning has no objective reasoning (like they did it in the past).worst of all, Rosh fights aren't exciting at all

patch 8.00: Dota 2 is now open world with bosses and new construction abilities. Each hero now has the ability to construct buildings (barracks, towers). Roshan's offsprings, Blazhan and Froshan will spawn after 60 min mark and patrol the Roshan pits. Killing them will drop new runes: Incinerate (attacks deal 3% burn damage based on enemy HP, lasts for 75 secs) and Deep Chill (attacks slows enemies and reduced HP regen by 3%, lasts for 75 seconds) respectively. Couriers now have Last Will and can attack buildings. Killing couriers will grant 20 gpm and 5 ms buff for 75 seconds. CM has been removed from game.

Played Dota1 and 2 for about 4k hours each… was playing in Ancient 5 when they started the medals ranks.. they put lot of changes that was just too much for when you played dota 2 for the classic WC3 comeback with good graphics and new heroes look.. was real fun .. and then i started to just feel sick of how the game changed so much with items and new map things.. started playing LoL back in 2013 reach a high rank too and loved the game for his gameplay it’s really different from dota and sticked with it… barely playing any of these games really but… like dota 2 player base is gone ,player that were here when dota 2 was in beta are just far gone :( New generations will look upon those changes as a good thing but when you played dota 2 back in the dayz you will never find the joy you’ll get now. Yeah, without any items. But with her typical itens she will have around 1k HP at the end. But the new mana shield gives her around 5-6k effective HP

@Mzw 2345 its a good question but despite not testing I would assume that it doesn't. It's a passive that doesn't work passively, it gives her a buff that works as a mana shield. If the break immediately remove the buff then she would melt,

I feel that it's too many big changes all at once. Between the map additions, the layout change, the item changes, the new hero category, and the change of making kills a focus for gold more than farming, it's going to be an entirely different game. I told my friends after playing tonight that it's all probably for the best, but you'll have to forget most things you knew about standard DotA and relearn how to play the new version we have. I also feel that it's more of an arcade mode now and I don't like how hard the snowball is atm. You get behind and can't come back in the game I've been a part of (whether we were the snowball or facing the snowball).

the first problem that I see with this map is an unfair amount of jungle camps on both safe lane. I think instead of 5 extra in safelane and only 1 extra in the offlane they need to balance it with 4:2 and put the ancient camp on each edge part on the safelane instead.

Excited about new changes, cant wait to try and see how meta strategies changes in pro scene. Only thing I don't like is Roshan position which I think should be somewhat closer to middle. I don't mind roshan changing sides, I think that was cool. Just I don't like that its in extreme corner makes it kinda hard to reach, which might decrease contest for roshan. Although its only my assumptions, maybe I am wrong, lets see.
