I don't know what Puppey had in mind to risk and put their be or not to be in Matumbaman hans. Teams that always spent their faith into one core's hands ends like this. They should of focus more on all 3 cores, get some fine big combos. TS was a better TEAM overall, Sven made enough space for Storm to comeback with networth, while Tiny who had main spot lead to his team defeat. Matumbaman made sooo many mistakes and fails: letting TS to catch him few times, then diving too deep for SUPPORTS that cost almost whole of his team members to be wiped. It hurt to watch those plays. GL to TS, hope they keep the Black Horse of the tournament history and win the Aeghis!

it's not "even though" - when Secret picked Lycan and Tiny strat I knew it's a lost game. Secret during G1 and G2 in early phase was playing smart but not aggressive and assertive. When You pick that Tiny/Lycan start and You risk Your "be or not to be" and put it in ONE player hands.. You have to keep the pressure and aggression from the very start. Secret didn't. Matu was few times caught by TS and killed eazly cuz he was farmin solo bot and many times (like 3) he overestimate himself diving too deep for a mere support kill, dragging his team mates in and FAILING, allowing Sven to farm in piece and roll trough him like a toilet paper. Puppey shouldn't decide to risk his team faith in Matu's hands, every single team that during TI that made itself dependent from ONE player always failed miserably. That's what happened to OG, when they risked all on SumaiL, who was doing fine but simply COULDN"T do anything ALONE. When that one main link breaks, whole chains breaks and it's over. Matu's Tiny was not enough and Nisha's Lina and Zai's Lycan were useless against Storm and Sven flexibility.

Tbh spirit banned the heroes that sync well with that combo. Ogre with good magic damage that can pierce cold embrace's heal, good stun duration with multicast, bloodlust atk n aspd. Puck, which can instant blink n use coil+silence to make sure ww+magnus cannot use their spells. That's why secret were kinda struggle with that. Plus, matu was getting caught several times, ame on the other hand, didn't make that kind of mistake. He has 0 death on that tiny. Secret's gameplay were not as good as LGD. They made a lot of mistakes while LGD played that game perfectly.

The main reason for me for TS doing the thing they are doing now imo is they are the younger players. Younger players brain receptors are always faster than older people, it's why older people do things more slower just in general whether it's walking, exercising etc etc...Not talking down on TS and TORONTO (they are great players obviously with serious proof in this TI) but those are actual facts i'm talking about, sumail yungest player in dota 2 to win a ti and now yatoro has that chance too (not youngest but just kinda pointing out that plenty young players do it) . Secret had the same LGD strategy on using tiny and lycan while TS used to be the same strategy Secret did to LGD by picking Magnus and WW. However, the result was different. GG both teams

secret seems like they wanted an "easy" win by doing a broken combo that worked on lgd but now they know that broken combo has a counter, honestly matu should have gone a different rout with the items, when he started soloing tokyo he got too confident and decided to go same way as ame build but ame honestly for some reason took notes on how ana played a hard carry and took it into his own style which works really good on him

the difference was there are no other heroes buffing tiny outside of lycan or his dominated creeps or heroes that can break through enemy backlines (puck, ember, etc). Spirit banned heroes like Ogre and Puck to minimalize the threat from Tiny+Lycan combo that worked for LGD against Secret. This was also why LGD lost the final game with their own favorite duo.

Honestly I don't think they choked hard. Secret was just outplayed and thats it, they played basically as good as during majors. Problem was that Team Spirit playes this tournament just better than that. LGD would still beat Secret for sure if they would managed to get to finals but with TS performance finals can be actually very interesting.
