I like to think of this as like an escape sequence, or just a 10 minute long survival before all the amalgamates melt after having merged together to stop you like seriously imagine a massive, melting enemy simply labeled 'The Beast' attacking you with you having no way to damage it back. sounds like smth out of a fucking nightmare dude

Wait, since you can't damage an Amalgamate, surely Alphys could have just left one of them to deal with the human in a genocide run. I know Alphys wouldn't want to since she's already put them through so much, but if we assume that at least one of the monster's in... Let's say Endogeny, was a royal guardsmen, than I'm sure Endogeny would be willing to help. While I was writing this comment, I had a thought. How determined are the Amalgamate's? Since they are the only monster's we can't damage other than Asreal, and Asreal had 7 human souls worth of power in him, And since we can damage Omega Flowey, who had 6 human souls of power in him, the Amalgamate's must be as determined as a creature with the power of 7 human souls. If the reason we can't hurt Asreal is due to the fact we can't bring ourself to hurt him, are the Amalgamate's more determined than the god of hyper death?

I think the reason you can’t damage an amalgamate is due to true lab only being legitimately accessible through a true pacifist route, where your attack and love are at its lowest. If you could actually go into true lab during a genocide route, there probably would’ve been a huge power difference, which would make an amalgamate vulnerable. Also, there probably would be a system where you need to act in order to lower the guard of an amalgamate so they could be killable.

@@noonetonotice I guess that makes sense but I can't stop thinking about the fact that even in true pacifist, you can still attack the Amalgamate's, it just doesn't do anything, but in Asreal's case, you just can't attack him. But I'm probably think to much into it. Also why can't the Amalgamate's save and load? Frisk can save and load due to the fact that their soul trait is determination, but why can Flowey save and load but the Amalgamate's can't? Is it the fact that Flowey was a boss monster, the fact that he was just a object with the dust of someone on it, the fact that Alphys put more determination into Flowey, The fact that he died with a human soul in him? (There was probably text in the game explaining this and I just overlooked it).

@@kanadecultist I suppose only ðe person wið ðe MOST determination can save/load at any given time, and ðe amalgamates had less DT ðan humans. As to why ðey can't be killed, it might be because ðey don't have any physical matter in ðem eiðer.

You also can't hurt Mettaton box form no matter your lv due to his 255 def. You also can't hurt Mad Dummy and Mad Mew Mew because they're ghosts. I think you can't hit Asriel due to him having inf defense. Omega Flowey is just lowering his HP to toy with you and give you false hope, as the whole fight is him playing with his food and being sadistic. (He one shots you like 20 times effortlessly at the end)
