IYLEP: What is IYLEP, what to expect and should you apply or not

A brief summary of IYLEP for all of you who are thinking of applying and for all of you who didn't know about it before. There is a lot more that I can say about the program but I thought these were enough for now, if you have any questions then feel free to ask me :)

Iylep is better that what i had expected i love it. U will see the real America and lots of ppl who want that world to be better place. Every and each one of the iraqi/American/British student that was with me loved it they developed them selves and had real friends that they cried once they had to leave. ... Dear +Dhuha Ihsan, I hope you can see this post because I can't seem to reply to your comment (you need to change the privacy settings of your Google+). First, you are very welcome, I'm glad I helped you. Second, I generally prefer not to answer such questions now until you guys get accepted first and I'd be making more videos explaining and answering all your questions...but, how much money you take depends on how much you wanna spend while considering that the US is not cheap at all. You will have to pay for all the personal stuff, snacks or meals which are not covered in the program. I'd say minimum of 1000$ would be good, I personally spent way more than that but like I said, it depends.

Hey Jason, I'm sorry I'm not so familiar with the applying process this year. There is a video on KZbin that a friend of mine did that explains the whole applying process, check it out it might help you. Otherwise, search on facebook for IYLEP 2015 group and ask for them there and they will give it to you. I'm sorry I couldn't help more.

World Learning has already started preparing for IYLEP 2015, I doubt there would be any cancelation. We had some problems this year as well but they did their absolute hardest to find a way to make it happen and they will probably do the same thing for IYLEP 2015.

Hi there! I'll try to help you but just in case, if you have facebook then go to the IYLEP 2015 group and ask my friend there, Ahmed Izra, about whatever you need help with. So you submitted the first letter but not all the pages? Can you merge them into one file and upload them as one? I'm not sure how it works, so I don't know if you can upload several files for one letter. The other one, there must be two options, one for uploading the first letter and another one for the second letter? I'm sorry, I just really don't have any idea about how it works this year.

On Saturday or Sunday? It's pretty easy, there would be a lot of alumnus there who would explain everything. The questions are fairly simple; about you, your family, your school, your country, what you wanna do there, etc. And thanks, I did not learn it from IYLEP completely, I just learned there how to speak with confident, if that makes sense.

Well, I can give you a Lear answer, tbh, because it is up to you. I'm in 6th grade now but I didn't take any private teachers so the I had no problem with joining the program. My other friends, they all somehow managed to fit he program into their schedule. The UG program is different than the HS but here is the thing, when you go there your whole life changes, your whole perspective on life would chance so when you go to college you will have a new and wider perspective on life. Like me, back then I thought having a degree was important but now it all changed, I realized there how pointless most of the things we worry about are. So it's up to you, dear :)

Hey there, good luck this year! I wasn't accepted first time, too, but then applied again and yeah, you know the rest! I wish there was something I could tell you about but I can't think of anything. The whole applying process is pretty simple and it is up for the staff to decide who is accepted and who is not, so just be honest with them, don't be afraid to show off a little and be confident in your speech :)
