Trips is the setup for me. The extra cost, weight and fuel burn isn't worth the extra few MPH by adding quads.

Why are these boats so expensive?

Great question! To explain a bit, Mercury Racing 450R engines are advanced, high-performance, supercharged V8 racing engines with aluminum blocks, a quad cam, 4-valve system (QC4) that produce 450 horsepower and impressive torque. This boat has 3 of those engines rigged to her transom, which equates to around $200k of the cost alone. When you then factor in the cutting-edge composite fiberglass and kevlar hull (kevlar is expensive), advanced electronics, top-of-the-line stereo system, hand-stitched upholstery, underwater lighting, custom paint job, stainless steel hardware and all the creature comforts and other amenities, this is one premium, high-performance machine that is not considered an economy model by an stretch of the imagination. This is a luxury, fast, finely tuned performance boat.

83-84 mph what the hell is the difference you guys are for real or you play with yourself 80+ on the water is haulin ass and your not going to go that fast in most conditions

haha you're right. It's the need for speed! In the center console world 5mph is a big difference. The quad 450R 39 nortech runs 94-95...thats insane.

Boat does not do 87mph. I have the same vessel and even on a cool day in great conditions 83-84 max. This boat appears equipped to be heavier than mine too. FFT

@@yachtworld I own the same boat! I can provide my own performance specs, which I shared. Its an amazing boat. I love mine. It's just NOT an 87 mph boat.

@@ReelGUS13 Agreed, amazing boat! We often see that a just few mile-per-hour difference in top speeds can come down to very minor adjustments/tuning, sea state, weather/temperatures and weight (i.e. minimal fuel loaded, etc).
