Ms. Nora ... (sigh) your performance here brings tears to my old eyes as I recall my family so many years ago. We’d sit beneath the large sycamore tree in our backyard sipping sweet tea. We sang old favorites (like this); played Gin Rummy or Old Maid (my Grandfather famously cheated us kids playing Old Maid); Play catch until the light faded and then run after fireflies on those humid sultry Summer nights. Ever present was the absence of my Father - one of the first, in our Nation, to be killed in Vietnam. Now, 57 years later, I’m bed ridden with 3rd stage Parkinson’s gained by toxic exposure at Camp Lejeune NC. Your sweet voice and musicianship help me set aside my painful physical existence and ... for a brief while ... transit back to those sweet tea nights. Thank you, and God bless you Ms. Nora PS ... my granddaughter is named Nora. I pray she shares your grace, verve and smile!
