Here at Norbury Wharf we have adapted the way we work and we are now confident we can welcome the public back to what may well be the new normal for us and our customers.
We are now open seven days a week, 8.30 am to 5.00pm, we are serving takeaway food and drink from our kitchen, our shop and chandlery are open and our day boats and holiday boats are taking families out for post-lockdown holidays and days out.
We have now sent our first holidaymakers on their way to enjoy the wonderful Shropshire Union Canal and beyond. Our boats are deep cleaned and finally fogged with a disinfectant mist before our customers set off. Every hirer is fully briefed through online videos before starting out and we keep contact between staff and customers to a minimum, using appropriate protective equipment.
The same approach is taken with our day boats and we are now seeing family groups setting off from the wharf every day to enjoy several hours on the water on one of the prettiest canals in the country.
At the same time, we are serving visiting boaters with diesel, gas and other essentials, and carrying out repairs and maintenance on their vessels.
We are painting in the wet dock and blacking in the dry dock.
Everywhere is fully signed and it should be perfectly clear where you need to go and how you should go about being served with food or drink, buying ice cream and other essentials from our shop.
This is a socially-distanced norm and we rely on our customers to abide by the rules to protect both our staff and themselves.
