Thanks so much for this basic introduction. I couldn't work out how my Stage 3 worked with all the buttons. I really appreciate the time and effort you've gone into these videos, thanks a million.

You made this look so easy. I have had mine for almost two weeks and was so overwhelmed. I played the most basic piano sound I could find last week the first time I played with it with our band, because I had no idea how to layer sounds. Now I do! Thank you!

I’m a late comer to this vid in March of 2021. My NS3 arrives in a couple days and I want to thank you for this helpful tutorial. It was nice of you to post it. 👍🏻😊🙏🏻

Thanks man! You just saved my life! I have a gig tomorrow and I just found out I'll get a Nord Stage 3 instead of the Roland I thought I'd get and which I know. So now I feel like I can have a shot at nailing the set. Thanks a lot for teaching me this!

@@PianoManChuck I survived ;) Had some issues with the sustain pedal, but I worked around it so it went pretty good I think. People were happy, band was enthousiastic so I guess it was good. Thanks again!

Thank you so much Chuck, I just got my nord stage 3 88k and was a bit afraid of it after putting it on the stand. I was having some difficulty figuring out how to use it and layer sounds as well. Thank you so much for your tutorial and teaching on how to use this board. You are such a good teacher and you explain the steps so well! I’m absolutely greatful for you doing this video. I am still not sure what all the buttons do on the far right side of the board either. Please let me know if you have another video explaining some of the other button options as well. The keyboard sounds like a dream!

Thanks from me, too, Chuck. Very helpful. You are logical and structured and most importantly patient. You do not make it complex but simple. That's very good.

Thanks Sue. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's much faster to make changes on the fly!

Nice tutorial for a 'beginner' (after a decades-long break). I used a Juno 106 in the late 80s and and an Ensoniq, but just bought the Stagehand 3. It's amazing, but a bit daunting. Thanks for this!

I'm really enjoying these videos on the Nords Chuck - I've always been impressed with the quality of the sounds on those things, though I've never had enough money to buy one, and always wondered about their UI. (Or should I say, I've chosen to buy an upright Steinway, and the big Korgs instead, as my instruments were totally for use within my small home studio. Saving up for a new Kawai MP-11 now, partly as a result of your videos also.)

This was an awesome beginners video thank you so much. Would You be willing to make a video describing the synth section ? I recently purchased a NS3 for worship at our church. And we’re looking to use the piano to help with pads and ambient sounds. Any suggestions ?

Ah! Thank you for this basic tutorial. It is quite an intimidating beast. So, to layer/dual a piano with pad. I choose from the middle, 4 lights signify all across the keys using. To get a a pad, hold shift key from the piano choices, twist to electric, hold shift again and twist the list and choose whichever pad I prefer? Will it also equally play across all the keys with the piano too? (And will those smooth pads be in the piano section or synth?)
@EverettDudgeon1383 жыл бұрын
I’m trying to understand. If you want to have a synth engine split with three or four sounds on each area of the keyboard with an arpeggiator doing something on the lower split is that possible or can you only split the synth section, piano section, organ section?

I just bought a Nord piano 4. great piano, however the keys are very heavy for me to play. im thinking i should take it back and return it and get the Nord stage 3.instead. any advice plz?

This is a very good video compared to others because its practical. It seems to me that the Nord is not as suitable for making my own music compositions using a DAW? Or am I wrong PianoMachCuck? The Nord appears to be designed for more stage performanes. I an after a keybaord for solo use, in a deep dark room, making my own music for saving to a file and uploading to youtube. Woudl you recommend a workstation or a MIDI keyboard for this kind of workflow (not live). Or is the Nord very suitable for this? Thanks.
@PianoManChuck2 жыл бұрын
Nord is more than suitable for your own creations using a DAW.

@@PianoManChuck Thanks for replying. Not often I get replies nowadays. What Nord would you recommend for use with a DAW sir? Thanks.
@PianoManChuck2 жыл бұрын
Its been a long term policy (over 10 years) of ours to NOT make recommendations ( see kzbin.infoabout ). I suggest you go to the Nord user forums at www.norduserforum.com where others can help you out with that question.

I must be missing something... I just got my new Stage3 HP76 and I tried the layering technique shown in the video, when I add the organ to the piano I cannot hear the piano layer at all unless I lower the Organ volume by 75%, I set my instraments and knobs like yours looking at the video, what am I missing?
@PianoManChuck3 жыл бұрын
Try raising the Piano Volume.
@brianmwei3 жыл бұрын
@@PianoManChuck Yes I have piano volume and organ volume set the same like yours in the video, it looks like organ and piano are set up all the way? at least that what it looks like on your video and thats my issue. do I have to adjust the volume for Organ Piano Synth seperatly?
@PianoManChuck3 жыл бұрын
@@brianmwei Of course - each section (organ, piano, synth) has its own volume control - that's how you control how much of each is heard in a layer. The main (global) volume simply raises all 3 sections simultaneously from where they're currently set.

Hi, Chuck. How is the velocity curve on the Nord Stage 3? I heard in the nord forum that it was a little bad, for example that it was too difficult to do pianissimos, because the velocity curve was too fast/light. Some people says that is a little bad, other people says that is good. What do you think about it?
@martintin79505 жыл бұрын
I change mi piano 3 to this stage 3, and the curve in comparison with P3 is really bad. You can't play with the same expression, but it's not terrible anyway. If u compare with a triple sensor key is like a meh keyboard. The sounds of piano seems to be a little worst too, but u win more of other tools, sounds etc.
