This was an excellent video. I have not seen any examination of studies with regard to the type of poles used until this. My wife and I use Black Diamond hiking poles with straps like conventional cross-country ski poles and boot tips from Urban Poling. They probably weight a bit more than conventional Nordic walking poles but they are very strong and high quality. A pair of the boot tips, if they are of good quality, will last a couple of months. Some poor quality boot tips have lasted less than one 10 to 15km walk. My wife has RA and her hands are very damaged by the disease. When we started nordic walking she was having trouble lifting a tea cup and now, a few years later, she can pick up a gallon jug of milk and swing it around over her head! We are seniors but have nordic walked approximately 4000km. One week we managed to break 100km but the pandemic stopped us for nearly two years. During that time we used an elliptical trainer but even it didn't compare to nordic walking. Now we are back to nordic walking and loving it! Thank you for an inspiring video! It made us want to go today after 8km yesterday. Needless to say, we highly recommend Nordic walking. I haven't yet used them to fight off a wild animal but we have run into a few bears and cougars to make our walks interesting!
